Hi Adrian thanks for the input probably the reason for the lack of souls was due to the fact of the high winds and it was a very cold day, only nerds like myself stay out very long in these conditions LOL. If you do make a decsion to visit may I suggest visiting in July when the air show is taking place not far from where these photos were taken.

I have a sigma 17/70 and a Tamron 70/300 which I am happy with both. My question is if I purchase a Tamron 18/250 can I expect better picture quality over the Tamron 70/300 which would meen I could get away with the use of the single lens, less the 50mm focal length. Also does anyone know how the Tamron stands up in performance and pic quality to the pentax 18/250.

This seems a bit strange 1 Day listings on ebay for K20D bodies starting at £449 + £14 postage = £463 and people seem to be buying them? No guarantee etc. Link1 Link2

Not saying there's any problem with the seller... just the price?. He is using the same (stock?) photos for each one. They are available new with 2 year guarantee for about £500, but they do seem to be in short supply in some places.

I would not consider spending that kind of money without some sort of warranty, seems a bit silly to me. Even with the pentax deal you get a six month warranty but I still think this should cover a full year.

When you gain there trust you can get up real close as long as you move very slowly as not to spook them.

What do they count as a defect? How about a scratch or fingerprint on the focusing screen or mirror? That's the kind of thing I would be worried about if it wasn't Grade A (top condition).
I would imagine mechanical and cosmetic defects but you would have to realy phone them yourself to get an answer as to the condition of any purchase.

If SRS do get any more refirbs at the price above plus the 2 year warranty I would go down that route myself.

I still kick myself over that, when SRS got them in Chris said he would let the people who sent him a PM have one in the order he received the PM. I stood down as I was in Spain and because he said they would be getting more so I let someone else have mine and I would get one from the next batch.

Of course the next batch never arrived (or Chris forgot to let me know).
The refurb's that SRS had previously were grade A refurbs, unmarked. Apparantly the ones that Pentax are shifting, both on ebay and direct, are not grade A which is why SRS haven't taken any more.
Hi Peter can you explain what you meen by grade A, Im not aware of the term. The guy I talked to from pentax said the cameras were fully checked by there tech staff before being sent out to make sure there were no problems or defects on the cameras. I forgot to mention they also come with a kit lens as well.

You do have to ring them Shim to see what stock they have at the time. If SRS do get any more refirbs at the price above plus the 2 year warranty I would go down that route myself.
