Well spotted and shot, Malcolm.

Wow - that's so sharp I nearly cut myself on it !
A lovely shot, Sally.:D
You have certainly made that kit lens perform.
I've obviously not used mine correctly in the past - I need to keep it stopped down more.
You said it was dull but the sun came out briefly - well to get that brilliance at f/20 it must have really come through strong ?

"Saw this sky, took a shot from the bedroom window but by the time I got dressed to go to the the seafront it had gone."
That's the thing about sunrise and sunset shots. Fleeting moments of wonder - once seen, never to be repeated.
Often I see something but don't have the camera ready and by the time I do, it has passed by ! "carpe diem !"
So - well captured :D

Great shot, looks like a raging fire, go large for the full effect +1 AND agree with all the previous comments:D:D:D
To me the 18-55 is like 'Marmite' - either love it or hate it !
One thing I've learnt is that it does usually perform better when stopped down (as in this pic) but then, in my night shot it was fully open ???
Whatever - a fantastic capture
Well done:D
