I may be wrong but it looks slightly overexposed to me.
Thats probably down to my poor raw processing. Never mind points noted and hopefully will be better next time.

RR I wouldn't have a clue how to start beginning to remove the green reflection from the feathers. Having seen your image though it does look better. Did you process everything in the raw image then convert or did you photoshop aswell once converted?

Taking the image I tried to post (i'll try again) how would you start to improve this image? This image is straight from the camera so to speak with no processing at all.

I need some advice Please. I have the software that came with my K200d I am shooting both Raw + JPG. My question is where do I start to process a raw image? This image has had nothing done to it apart from a slight crop and posting and resizing on photobucket.
Any help would be great.

Not sure where to post this so put it here. I have been trying to use an old Vivitar 2x converter (PK-A/R-PK)with my 55-200 sigma zoom. Whilst this does work I am having trouble determining the correct exposure. I have tried the combination in Manual and AV. The green button gives a correct exposure but with incredibly low shutter speeds, and even in bright daylight. I know that a 2x converter adds about a stop but no matter how I try I cannot get the shutter speed higher than about 30th sec and more often lower. Should I just give up with this or am I doing something wrong? Surely I should be able to get some sort of result?

I recently did this test on my old laptop.
http://www.xrite.com/custom_page.aspx?PageID=77

Other people who did this had a range of equipment from Apple to high end pc's.
I returned a perfect score whilst some with kit worth 4 or 5 times my laptop returned scores ranging from poor to very poor.
If you have a good LCD panel in a laptop, you have a good LCD panel. Doesn't matter if its housed in a laptop or a flat panel monitor.
Many Laptops today have very good graphics cards too.
I wouldn't discount a laptop for editing.
Hope thats helpful.
