Great discussion so far. I agree with a lot of what's been said already.

The way I recommend is to have a simple and basic website (Wordpress is what I'm most familiar with and there's a lot of suitable themes for showing off good quality photography). From here, you can choose which social networks you delve into and which online platforms you partake in. Perhaps, depending on what content you're producing, you'll put certain pieces on certain sites.
One thing I always tell everyone to be careful of is your copyright laws. Make sure you're up to date and that you declare everything that needs to be declared. Do some research into which option you opt for with certain sites. Here's a quick guide on the basics.
