Sigh. All I want is a nice simple camera. Maybe I will go back to film, there was never a problem with film.

Maybe I should get a Leica M8? These are probably the closest to what the old film SLR's where. I can't really afford it but maybe it's something to save for.
Personally so long as I can change the Aperture, ISO, focus and press a shutter button I am happy. Having a display to see and delete photos or even view a histogram is a bonus. Beyond this Everything else to me is somewhat pointless, it all just gets in the way.

It must be nearly two years since I changed over to Nikon, I bought a D200 in place of my Pentax IstDs.
It is after this much time I am starting to wonder if this was the wrong thing to do. I love simplicity above all else. I still have a Pentax film SLR, its a M10 or K10 or something??? This old film SLR to me is the greatest design ever, it doesn't even have an on button. You can select to be in an aperture priority mode or bulb.
I wish cameras could be made like this again, the Nikon has so much absolute crap in it that never gets used.
But I believe Pentax DSLR's are the simplest ones on the market, their lenses are absolute top notch to. They pay attention to the little details other manufactures miss entirely.
It may seem crazy but I am thinking of heading back in the Pentax direction. Its been so long since I posted here to.

I have done something quite stupid. I have an old beautiful Pentax SLR camera and some of the foam seal in front of the ground glass is perishing. I tried pulling the loose bits of this seal away and they fell on the ground glass, stupidly I tried cleaning it and have rubbed the foam into the ground glass. It is quite stuck in there and I don't know how the clean it off.
Before I wreck it anymore can someone give me some help?

When I look through the viewfinder it is all quite smeared and funny looking.

Unfortunately this is one of the reasons I am selling my Pentax equipment and bought a Nikon D200. I am sorry to say to that it was the best decision I could have made.

Thats the big Nikon announcement. Which has been now of course. Who would have thought cameras that nice were possible, Canon have some catching up. Of course it happens not long after I bought my D200, still have my IstDs of course.

Nikon have certainly left Canon behind with the D300 and D3. Interesting to see what Pentax is bringing soon.

I have been having a lot of fun lately taking photos of plants and flowers in torch light. This one was with my IstDs and Sigma 18-125 3.5-5.6 lens.
I am not sure why but I seem to be able to make nicer photos with my PentaxIstDs than my Nikon D200.
What do you think?

If you need to ask why then 16-55 2.8 is better then you don't need it!
