Terrific photos. Mountain vews are not always easy to capture. In many ways I think that your first image gets the feel of things very well.

Great place and worth a visit. The food at the Royal Hotel is highly recommended!

Best regards
My late wife knew this village well, since the days when it was still an active in-shore fishing village (late 1930s). Its attractive location has made it a magnet for second-home owners, retired professionals, and a small permanent population. Many of the fishermens' cottages are now refurbished as comfortable modernised holiday homes. Some are let commercially. The bay is sheltered and safe for dingy sailors (there is a Sailing Club). Property prices are amazingly high!

And we definitely have a rat running around near the house .
I hope it does not get into your house. We get the occasional rat outside, from the notoriously unhygenic oriental "Fish & Chips" takeaway a few doors away. One got into our old timber-framed village house earlier this year, when someone left the kitchen door open. It chewed its way through the lath-and-plaster internal walls and lived in the hollow between two old walls for months. It chewed holes in the wall, in the ceiling, and was a perpetual nuisance. Poisoned bait failed to kill it. I eventually caught it with an old fashioned spring trap. A big, wily old rat.

Mrs L has not made any sloe (or any other flavoured) gin this year . So I'm working my way through a bottle of dry sherry randomly found on the drinks shelf. Takes me back to student years when a bunch of us rebelled against beer drinking culture and took up sherry drinking instead.

I hope that the sherry was unopened when you found it. Dry sherry really does not keep long once opened. I used to be able to detect a change in Tio Pepe once it had been open 2-3 days.

We used to have friends who would pour us a glass of sherry when we called on them around Christmastime. We always suspected that it was from the same bottle that they had poured us a drink the previous Xmas, as it had almost no flavour. They also served it in glasses so tiny that an Australian would have deemed them "the smallest liquid measure ever devised"
