Does this mean that Pentax are re-making it? or does it mean that Pentax have started shipping back to the UK again (like the FA 50mm)
Okay what lens are we talking about, well the 35mm F2!

Not cheap though, especially compared to the Sigma 30mm F1.4, but tempting nevertheless. Plus you can use it on film bodies unlike the Sigma.
With an EFOV of 52.5mm on the K10D and 54.25mm on the K20D/K7 it would be a great walkabout lens.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Like most people have said, it depends on what you want to shoot, the time of day, indoors and outdoors, flash or ambient light (ie fast apertures) etc etc.
I am lucky to have a large range of lenses to cover focal lengths from 10mm to 500mm, and if you include my cheap 2x up to 1000mm (only really good for moonshots....LOL)
I started buying cheap lenses which were not that fast but gave me an idea on what I wanted to shoot. When I started to find areas I was particularly interested in shooting I then endeavoured to buy better glass for that type of subject matter. For instance, portraits I started with a cheap 55-200 Sigma, but now I have the DA*50-135. To replace the kit lens, I now have the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX, but it is heavy and does not go wide enough although again a great portrait lens especially in ambient light. So, to complement it, I also have the 16-45mm F4, which is light and on the camera most of the time when I am out and about.
It is however not that fast so, looking at getting the 16-50, which would be better for lower light and used when the weather is inclement.
So, ultimately is there a perfect range? probably not, as we will always want a lens which wil cover a different range/aspect/fast/low distortion/high disortion etc etc.
But at the moment, for me I suppose my "current" perfect range would be
Sigma 10-20mm (I have)
DA* 16-50
DA* 50-135 (I have)
DA* 60-250
DA* 300mm
DFA 100mm Macro WR
FA 50 F1.4 (I have)
FA 77mm Limited
FA 31mm Limited
DA 40mm Limited
DA 21mm Limited
DA 70mm Limited
These would cover all my photo needs, whether Landscapes, City, Portraits, Wildlife, Sport, Macro, Travel (the DA limiteds would come into their own here due to their small size and weight)
This of course would change, but in the meantime, I will use what I have and enjoy taking pictures with them.

If they are not what you want then bung them on fleabay.
For that price I would give them a go.
