It refers to the golden age of sea travel for those who could afford to pay extra for a cabin on the 'cool' side of the ship when travelling around Africa and on to India and the far east. Fish eye shots usually do not appeal to my taste, but I like this distortion for some reason that I cannot describe. I just like it!
