In summary, the Jessops flash will only work as a fully manual gun with your camera...
I've got the cheaper 300AFDP and it does do P-TTL. Either that or it pre-flashes for no reason whatsoever and accidently gives far better results than the built-in unit every time.

Thank goodness I didn't pay the original £100 for it, though. It's as simple as a bounce flash gets

You might be dissapointed with the k-m. There's no top plate LCD, and much worse, only a 5-point autofocus system with NO indication as to what it's pointing at in the viewfinder.

Wait a bit longer and get a K200. You know it makes sense

Having said that, my own K100 is so good I won't ever sell it.

Landscapes and family photos mainly, but more recently two weddings with my k100, 18-55, 50-200 and a Jessops 300AFDP flash, shot in RAW, carefully processed with PS Elements 4 and printed on a little HP Photosmart 8050 with 'proper' ink and paper.

The results were astonishing with two very happy couples. Just shows what you can achieve with relatively simple equipment.

Mind you, my own wedding was shot with a Fuji S2 Pro years ago and I can't fault the results, or imagine how they could be any better. Mind you, our photographer didn't print his own photographs.

The only reason that I'm now looking towards a K20 (ork30..?) is that it's become obvious that wedding photography sometimes requires cropping. I can get away with a small amount at 6mp, but 14+ will help a great deal if I do any more of these stressful assigments !

Will never sell my K100, though.

Another way is to set the camera to 2sec delay. The flash should fire just before the mirror goes up and again when the shutter opens. You can't miss it then.

That's bit bit odd, since I have the 360's little brother the 300AFD and it performs really well. It also pre-flashes, although whether that means P-TTL is working or not I've no idea.

Otherwise, the flash works well in all modes - within it's limitations, just as with the pop-up jobbie.

All sorted ! Got hold of Camera RAW 3.7 (the latest version that will work with PE4), replaced the existing file as per Adobes instructions and Bingo ! I can now import my .PEF's !

Works really well - thanks to everyone who took the time to help out !

I'm using PS Elements 4 and want to use it to edit RAW files from my K100. Trouble is, while I've apparently downloaded the correct plug-in, I'm not entirely sure what to do with it.

Elements won't load .PEF files, telling me they're the wrong type of file...

Help !

Ta.

That's funny. I'm gonna try it...

Getting back to the flash, here's one nutcase deal from Jessops:

http://www.jessops.com/Store/s68308/1-132-182-183/Home/Accessories/Flash/Flashguns/Jessops/360AFD-Digital-Flashgun-for-Pentax/details.aspx

Google for a discount code and you might get another 25% off it too.

I've got a huge bruise on my head and a hole in my wall since I bought the (pretty good) 300AFD for the same price a couple of months ago...

As I've said, It's actually quite good - I've had some great results. It DOES overexpose occasionally if you point it at a predominently white surface, but other than that I'm well pleased.

Having said that, I would have baulked at paying the original £100 for it. It doesn't feel like £100 worth of kit (Canon and Nikon users would do better to look elsewhere), but a bargain at half that.

Not sure of any other dedicated guns at this price.

No, the 300AFD is still listed at £49.99.

The 360AFD is £149. At that price I'd go for a proper P-TTL Pentax gun, though.
