Would you consider a sigma 8-16?

The sigma 8-16 arrived today in perfect condition. Roll on the weekend so I can take it out in the daylight.

Get Exposure Plot (or something similar) and run it over your current photos. It'll show you how often you use each focal length and help you gauge whether the 16-45 will leave you needing to change lenses. This is the process I used to pick between the 16-45 and the 17-70. I got the 17-70 in the end, albeit a second hand one.

It's my local store. I'd have no qualms buying from them, They are not usually the cheapest but I've bought a compact and a video camera from them. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to help.

Assuming just the file name had changed another option might be searching on or sorting by EXIF. If the data is exactly the same a visual comparison can be carried out. Not that I know how to do the searching or sorting. Is half an idea worse than no idea at all.

Chris, I had the 28-70 on my MZ-5 and used it on my K200D. It is small and light and it would still be on my K200D were it not for my need for a wider angle. Both the 28-70 and 28-80 are for sale here link if Edumad and Jackie decide they cannot part with theirs.

I have noticed there is a lot of nice second hand stock in the Strand (London) branch of the London Camera Exchange. I am no expert on the values of second hand lenses but the 17-70 price looked good so I took the plunge. That leaves a 16-45mm f4, a 16-50mm f2.8, a 200mm f2.8 and a 300mm f4.
