Mhm. I am trying to decide between those Aputure Trigmaster II and the Aputure Trigmaster II plus versions (these: link). Anyone that got those and has any feedback after using them for a bit?

Thanks!

Oh yes, I'll get used to it, of course. My thumb really hurt holding the K5 for a while when I first got it. Clicked through the first 380 odd photos (deleted a number of duds so no clear count) yesterday on an assignment and was fine and pain free then.

[I think the slightly smaller grip of the *istDs will always feel a bit nicer to me - I am titchy ].

It'd be nice to be able to do this, though. One for the wishlist then: Give me a camera where I can re-assign each and every single button to 'delete' . Seriously: I think that'd be a rather wonderful feature and not that hard to realise. Display a schematic of the camera on the screen where you can click through all the buttons with the selection wheel and re-assign them as you want to. If they go a bit further there could even be a simple 'if - then' relationship [if in af mode button does this, if in mf mode button does that] that shouldn't take that much processing power to run through. Even more advanced - tie different button setups to various user modes so that you could have one setup for, say, macro photography, another for low-light, and yet another for studio portraits. Priority of camera adjustments changes a little with all of these and grouping the most important ones where they are most ergonomically suitable for me, personally, would be nice.

Good thing to tick on the marketing / advertising list, too - but likely would require a complete re-think (and re-write) of how the firmware is programmed.

Hej,

now that I have a K5 (swoon) there's one thing that I know will bug me a little, coming from the *istDs (that I want to hold onto as a secondary body; potentially converted to an IR camera, eventually): The green button difference.

I use a number of manual lenses. On the *istDs pressing the ae-l button spot meters through the manual lens, much as the green button does on the K5. I'd rather would prefer the K5 to use the ae-l button for that, too. With the *istDs I can leave the thumb resting fairly much at the same place and operate both the back dial and that button at the same time; on the K5 I have to reposition it vertically. Is there any way to re-program / adjust the ae-l button in the K5's menu that I've missed in the menu? [Not least 'cause the slightly different dimensions of the K5 means my thumb now is much closer to my right eye which isn't uncomfortable but a bit awkward for now; I am a left eyed photographer - absolutely can't close the left one without closing the right one ]

Hej,

yes - am interested, but can't send PM's yet.

Wonder if you'd be up for a bit of discussion re-bundle price of lens? I don't really _need_ that one, per se. [Have the non WR version and manual lenses in that range of higher quality; would save up for the Tamron 17-50 if I'd really yearn for something to upgrade from what I have.]

So I'd take it off you if you'd want to get rid; but getting the WR version wouldn't really be worth an extra £50 to me, personally. £35? . You'd get more via e-bay for it, of course, so would understand if you'd rather stick to that .

Would take train over to St.Helens to pick up - if you are near to station; cheaper than the postage.

But who will be the early adopters? Is it going to be lept on by current k5 owners or is a not a big enough leap for them? Will it be the dealbreaker for those like me with older models, or will it bring a new load of 'demanding enthusiasts' to Pentax?
. I am still happy with my *istDs (bought second hand in 2005 - cycled way past the 100.000 shutter releases [I don't know precisely - it only counts to 9999, then starts over!]); update now is probably about time - though I think I'll get enough 'newness' with a second hand k-5 / ii / iis should one come around at an opportune time in my price bracket. I mainly use completely manual prime lenses anyway - so the increased autofocus points themselves aren't that much of a push; and the rest seems more in the realm of nice little refinements that would be cool to have, but not necessarily essential.

Ye - my thoughts, too, really, but felt better it might make sense checking with folks that have more experience buying used lenses; wouldn't have considered if it hadn't popped up just before sending through the money. As is, of course, intended by ebay .

Thank you.

Hej,

Just won an auction for a lens that's a bit older (Tamron 90mm f/2.8 - the non-DI version) and out of warranty [but - by the description - hardly been used]. Square Trade offers warranty through e-bay that I could add to this, before I transfer the money. Thoughts / experiences / recommendations if it is worth it / useful doing so?

I tend to treat my lenses well - but might take them out hiking (overnight) with all the 'not so ideal' conditions that may bring.

And arrived safely, too - as with the other one, above, well packaged, works nicely and is well lovely.

Thank you.

Hej,

Have (and love) a M50 1.7 so the M135 would be a welcome addition. Only registered for this (lurker since a long while) and can't send PM's yet, though.

Is there any other way to establish contact?

Best
