I also wait for the bargain Jessops lens. Well, they wrote about 28 days and it was after Christmas, so they still have a time...

Hmmm. It seems to be a better solution to order from the UK based seller then.

Any rumours on the differences between K20D and K30D?

I see, that's good to know. I'm aware of the import duty issue, so I'd prefer to buy from the UK-based seller. Some of the HK based sellers write 'duty free', but I'm not sure if it is so and how's that possible.

With the differences between Pro and 'standard' Hoya states that the coating differs and lets more light through and reduce reflections:

Thanks, Matt. Normally it doesn't bother me much, but I just wondered what can I improve and how can I prevent it.

I don't use PS, but I believe it will be quite similar in GIMP, so thanks for the tip. I'm a completely 'newbie' in the postprocessing yet

Thanks, Steve. Yes, this was a test shooting - to see what I'll get and what can be improved. I have quite small yard behind the house, so I just found the best place I could in there. I wanted to see how the moon will look on the photo - it was surprisingly small

How can I set long time exposure? I found I can set in in big steps, but not that precisely, just 10 - 15 - 20 - 30, nothing in between. That was the reason I did it in B mode.

Is it better to use longer time, lower (100 or 200) ISO or higher ISO (400 or 800), shorter time?

I took first 'night' pictures in my life The camera was on a tripod, in B mode, shutter was manually released and hold - but I have no remote yet. It was quite dark, but moon was almost full. These three have been taken with 7, 12 and 17 seconds.

This one is quite dark:

Little zoom-in, longer time:

This looks like taken at the dawn:

Any advices / comments are welcome - there are so many things to learn

While testing (and learning) my new K20D I took a picture of a tree. The picture has been taken with DA 16-45mm and I'm a bit surprised - all the branches are surrounded by a purple fringing :. Actually I never paid too much attention to that before, but this time it was really visible and I expected a bit better results. Is it me doing something wrong or is it normal or I should postprocess it?

This is the full image (scaled down):

And this is a full crop of a top-right part:

What do you think?

I consider buying a CPL filter (so I can take a picture through a window) and potentially a graduated neutral filter.

I found a huge difference in prices though. I thought about Hoya filters (B+W are rather too expensive for me), 67mm (so they fit DA 16-45mm lens). Then in few internet shops I saw the prices for Hoya Pro1-D filter about £60-£100, while on eBay they are about £35-£60 (ie http://tinyurl.com/743x3n or http://tinyurl.com/9g9epv ).

Anyone bought them? Are they genuine? The price difference is huge and I'm tempted, but...

Thanks. Now I have to search Internet shops / eBay a bit
