Having succumbed to one of the current SRS offers I can no longer justify holding on to all of my APS-C lenses.

My DA 15mm Ltd Lens has its original box, caps and pouch. It has not had a great deal of use since I bought it new a few years ago. It is in great condition, - lens is of course unmarked and you have to look hard to see any signs of use. It is of course the old version without HD coating which is preferred by some users to the new version. Anyone living within reach of the Surrey Sussex border is welcome to inspect it. Photo attached which probably does not do it justice.

I do not think that you would be disappointed with the Sigma 17-50 which DXO found to be the sharpest lens tested with K5 and K3. I was delighted with the results. The Tamron equivalent is also pretty sharp but the copy I got was slightly decentered and once I saw the distortion on one side, my eye was always drawn to it. The Sigma is on the heavy side and not WR. Last year I bought the Pentax 16-85 for its greater reach and WR capability and I have found this lens also to be very sharp. I parted with my Sigma 17-50 with heavy heart as it in part duplicated the focal length of the 16-85 and I needed a contribution towards the cost of a K1, but I would happily have kept it and returning to your question is a considerable step up from the kit lens.

The DA15 Ltd vignettes very strongly when used in FF mode. However if you crop out most of the vignetting and compare with the same scene taken in APSc mode, you still get a significantly larger and wider photo in FF mode than you do in APSc mode. I think this could be useful.

I am somewhat surprised to see this old argument revived here. In film days photographers manipulated their images in the darkroom, and now we do it in the digital darkroom, albeit with many more tools at our disposal. The camera rarely manages to capture an image with the vibance and impact which we perceive with our eyes. I think that this is mainly because we have a brain to interpret the scene and the camera does not, it simply has a much less powerful computer algorithm. We can however redress this with some appropriate post processing. If some people are happy with images straight from the camera, then good luck to them but they will rarely realise the full potential of their images without some adjustment. I do not know whether the OP's image is intended to be an OOC example of how the image should appear. If it is, then I would not be happy with what seem to me to be rather oversaturated colours. It is, however, his image and he is free to present it as he likes it.

Prior to getting a K1 and 28-105 lens I thought that APSc lenses would not be of much use unless used in crop mode. I am now favourably surprised to discover that the DA 35 Ltd Macro works extremely well on full frame and only vignettes if you pull the hood out to its maximum extent. The DA 40 XS, and DA70 Ltds also work extremely well without vignetting. The plastic DA 50 1.8 is great and extremely sharp. As expected the DA16-85 is unusable in FF mode with a heavy vignette but the DA 55-300 only vignettes to a minor extent in FF mode and so is quite usable especially if you intend to crop the result. My Tamron sp 90mm is razor sharp but I find the focus tends to stutter a bit especially when approaching macro subjects, something it did not do on the K3.

Took this a few days ago with the 28-105 - iso 400 f9, so stopped down a bit. I have printed at A3+ and am very impressed by the detail and colour. I think the 24-105 is a great lens and every bit as as good as the 16-85. If weight and price are an issue , hen it is a no brainer!

I find this lens pretty sharp if stopped down a bit and provided no filters are used. I have a Jacobs UV filter which I used for protection and a polariser. I have found that both seem to degrade the image - the polariser seemed to affect the focus - I tried to photograph a small flower this morning and could not get a correctly focused image but when I removed the polariser it was tack sharp. The photo of Leith Hill tower has simply been very slightly adjusted in the shadows but has not been sharpened.

I have had second thoughts on this, as I always hate parting with a lens and after further consideration I shall keep it to complement my 28-105 albeit that it will only work properly in crop mode. I am therefore withdrawing it from sale for the time being.

I have decided to sell my DA 15mm Ltd Lens with original box, caps and pouch. It has not had a great deal of use since I bought it new a few years ago. It is in great condition and must be close to 'as new'. It is of course the old version without HD coating which is preferred by some users to the new version. I have just acquired a K1 ( which is not suitable for this lens) and although I still have a K3, I think I shall probably be using the former for landscapes in the future.
