Was just thinking that the tripod mounted evening shots of the static airframes might be a good oppertunity to try out pixel shift on the K3ii. I've not tried it yet as I don't often shoot on a tripod. Did you use pixel shift on your shots Chris? Can anyone see any disadvantages? Its a one off shoot so I'm a bit dubious about trying it out then. Maybe need to try it out beforehand

There's loads of room, you will get the odd inconsiderate photographer walk right in front of you, but 98% of them are considerate and will walk around you or wait or shoot alongside you.

I shot most of mine with a 24mm to 70mm F2.8 on a full frame camera, I did some pilot portraits with a 70 - 200 F2.8, I did take a 14mm F2.8 fixed, but didn't use it.

The night stuff is good and your all generally shooting from a wide semi-circle away form the aircraft, I used the 24-70 for this and cropped in a little, you will need a tripod for the night stuff.

Well worth it, I went in the museum prior to the shoot, so had 4 hours around that beforehand., and its free. If you see the staff in the museum, and mention the Timeline shoot in the afternoon, they'll give you a carpark pass saving you £4.
Thanks Chris,
I went to the museum last year, will try and get there a bit early to have another walk around. I'll probably go with DA*16-50 on my K3ii and take the 55-300 too, I'll probably take my 15mm and 35mm ltds too, as they are lighter when mounted on my tripod (not the most expensive/sturdy affair).

Just booked on the Harrier and Jaguar sunset shoot at RAF Cosford on 20th April. Looking forward to it very much. Any advice on what lenses to use Chris? Are you pretty close and need to go wide in order to get others out of the shot, or are you set back and need an bit of zoom? I'll probably just take everything

What's 'Comic Con?
Its the same one as at Liverpool was this weekend. Lots of people very happy to have photos taken. Crowded though, I went in with the DA 16-50 attached to my K3ii, I ended up swapping to a 10-17 as I could not get far enough back even at 16mm.

A few examples from yesterday (K3ii, DA16-50, DA10-17)

Thanks Chris, I've registered for the newsletter so hopefully I'll get to know early enough They did a couple of coldwar jet nightshoots at Yorkshire Air Museum last year, was hoping they would do them again but there is nothing on their website yet.
