Good to hear you've come back with the KP, which I imagine is many steps upwards and onwards from the K30.

If I was in the market now, technically, the KP would be a first contender for an upgrade.... I'm just a bit worried about the much smaller size, as I've used a K7 with grip for the last 8 years. I would go for the largest of the grips, and no doubt get used to it. Certainly the near K1 high ISO performance is a big draw, and would be a big help to me indoors with flash.

I'm pleased to announce, in true Alan Partridge style, my photographic bouncing back! After a long period of idleness I finally found the motivation to dust off the K7 and sling the camera bag on my shoulder, instead of relying on a phone.

And I'm very glad I finally did it. First lens out was the Samyang 14mm (that's a South Korean lens btw :wink and I took it on a couple of walks around the Wimbledon Common area last week.

Most shots were taken at ISO200, around F6.7, f8 or f9.5....

Thanks for taking a look!

They all suit the mono treatment well, and I particularly like the slight bloom to the lighting in No2.... Its not unlike the effect of the 'glamour glow' filter I sometimes use in Snapseed!

Thanks all, and I do agree there could be different crops and layouts to explore. I was really enjoying the perspective and DOF effects with the long zoom in such an environment, from that vantage point so was tempted by the wider view showing the various 'layers'.

And the OOF area in the foreground is the optical effect of that being out of the focus zone, which again I sort of enjoyed as I don't do a lot of telephoto shots.

The dreamy quality is the result of some PP playfulness, using the 'glamour glow' effect in Snapseed, which is clearly designed mainly for portraits of young woman, but unfortunately I was on my own that morning up on Farthing Down!

"As shot" should give the same colour temperature as the camera jpeg, as that is based on the camera WB setting.

Another thing to check is the software's highlight correction settings.... These can be both user adjusted but also part of the default file opening actions. Some programmes have sophisticated highlight corrections that include saturation tweaks as part of the algorithm, and this can have the effect of changing the apparent colour of highlights, such as your sun.

Yes, and I'd check that the software WB is set to "as shot"

I'm not sure I have any answers, but just need to clarify one thing.... When you say you processed the image using the various RAW programmes, do I take it that you made no actual adjustments?

I think that considering the amount of money that individuals will have invested in the lens, then it is highly unlikely that we will read any negative reporting... This applied surely to new owners of the DFA 50 as well.

The phenomenon is probably very similar to the reporting experienced when the K5iis came out, although that had no where near the financial investment in expectation.

Thanks Andy, yes I think you're right, it's a fine example of textured lighting!

Philips post reminded me that, of course, assuming JPEG captures, then additional sharpening could be applied through the Custom Image Settings rather than on a computer.
