I bought a Pentax 55-300mm on Monday along with a K20 body. I've previously used a Sigma 70-300mm and decided to take a punt on the Pentax as it seemed to get such good reviews. I have to say I'm really impressed with it. Possibly the best £199 you could spend on a new lens (actually less as I was able to trade in the Sigma against the new lens).

Okay its not great in low light but that's a given with this type of lens. Otherwise, really sharp, great colour and a pleasure to use.

I picked up a new K20 from SRS on Monday and noticed an issue with the rubber backing whilst getting to know the camera on a day's shooting on Wednesday. After reading this post yesterday I popped into SRS this morning. As you would expect from their first class service they were very happy to exchange it (thanks Chris) but are currently out of stock so will need tpo wait a few days.

I know it would bug me if it remained unsorted. Clearly a rogue batch of bodies.

I have moved on from 18 months K10 ownership which had no such problem.

I've been browsing the forum for quite a while but have never really had a need to post a comment. That is until reading Mike P's post. I was the guy who had the winning bid on the 105mm.

I only came across it with about 30 mins to spare and a couple of glasses of wine to encourage me to bid (it was Saturday night after all).

I thought I'd at least let you know that it will be going to a good home.

The seller tells me it's already on its way so I should be able to try it out over the weekend.

By total coincidence a friend was the highest bidder only a week ago for the same lens with a Cannon fit, only he paid a fair bit more. I was most chuffed to let him know that once again Pentax rules!
