Now you know you didn't, but do try again, you might just get away with it next time.

Wireless (WiFi) is an international standard and should work on any compatable equipment i.e. 802.11b or 802.11g.

Also, if Samsung have this, I guess Pentax will bring one out too! Perhaps it might even work with the K10D!
I'm willing to be corrected (and fully expect to be) but in the early days if WiFi, I believe the US used a higher transmission power or a different frquency for their kit. One or the other or both of these was/is banned for use in UK.

Of course, the IT world changes fast, and this may no longer be true.

It does look a good price . . . until you add the VAT. £458.25 + carriage is somewhat less awesome methinks.

Chris at www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk has the same combo for £449.00 incl VAT and free UK shipping to members of this forum. A slightly better deal?

Did you get the camera working yet? Another flash won't be much use if not.

Body only price £799.99 and £899.99 with the new MK2 18-55mm.
Interesting, you changed the price and didn't tell us.
My Apologies, i quickly changed it after reading your post, as i said in my post please give SRS a call, i didn't want them to think from my post that they were also £869.99 (Flipside - alot of dealers have also dropped there price and i wish to be competivie as possible - Since then, i have also have had the GX20 pricing through...)

As for your negative stance towards me, its understandable, you have a favorite dealer/forum member and it looks like I'm trying to barge in on his 'turf', please don't assume i knew that SRS was a member of the forum and that I'm trying to invade (I should of done more research before butting my nose in :lol If i was aware SRS was a member or heavily involved in the community, i wouldn't of advertised nor would've started posting.

So, please shop at your local / favorite dealer keep it close to the independents as possible - get a good deal and get good service.
Ben,

You must have me confused with somebody else. I don't recall mentioning SRS in my post. SRS, who? And negative stance, me?

Of course I meant SRS, and my initial post should have been viewed as free marketing advice rather than "negative stance". Competition is healthy you know. SRS are very good, are you better? That's up to you to prove to the other members here.

Regards,

Not interested at that price. I think you'll have to reduce the body only price by at least £70.00 to attract customers away from another supplier who's well known around here. Oh, and you'll have to throw in free next day delivery too.

Cheers,

Do you think DSLRs or even digital compacts will ever become collector's items?

I wonder if they will and think that they just might, because they are rather nice bits of engineering, even if they do become obsolete as "users".

I'm not hoarding them though!
At least collectors of DSLR's in the future will not have to pay a premium for film (if they can find it) and processing. Stick some batteries in and it'll work straight away, or should. Maybe they will be sought after, but not for a while yet I think. And all that depends on whether the file formats will still be supported in 10, 20, or 30 etc years to come.

Whilst I may want some of the K20D's new capabilities, I can't say that I really need them. I'll wait a year or so until the firmware is sorted and the price has dropped.

I was an early adopter of the K10D, with which I am more than happy. It can teach me a lot more than I can teach it, so I'll be sticking with it for now at least. If the exposure issue with pre-A series lenses isn't fixed in the K20D, I'll not be buying one anyway. I have only 3 pre-A lenses, but I use them quite a bit . . . on my *istD . . . because they don't work properly on the K10D. That kind of shoots down Pentax's acclaimed 'backwards compatibility' claim.

I'm sure there's a retail outlet somewhere near Watford that'll be doing good deals too.
