I can't help much Mike. I have both a K20D and the Sigma 180mm. I wouldn't part with either of them.

I'd say get the lens now and wait for the K20D price to drop when it's successor is anounced and it starts shipping.

You'll be happy whichever you choose.

Should I be inputting the 35mm equivalent, or just putting in 50mm.
For a 50mm lens you input 50mm.

The focal length of a lens does not change when you move it from a film body to a digital body. Only the angle of view (AOV) changes but most people can relate more easily to the focal length comparison (50mm on film = 75mm on digital) than they can to angles.

The true comparison would be to say that the AOV of a 50mm lens on a DSLR (with a 1.5 crop factor sensor) is similar to the AOV of a 75mm lens on a film SLR.

my old disco in action

This is before the snorkel was fitted so I was flapping a little shall we say !
The worst flooding I ever went through was alongside the Thames at Cookham.

I was in the Range Rover and wouldn't have been so brave except I'd seen a Defender go through. I raised the body on it's air suspension and went for it. Even with the suspension at its highest setting, I had a decent bow wave in front, the crest of which was level with the bonnet.

Mind you, I'd have felt a right pratt if I'd have drowned the engine, but I didn't.

I'd be a bit wary about this seller too. If you look at his feedback as a seller, he's not sold anything to do with our hobby at least since November '08.

Never forget, If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Experienced scammers are always going to offer HACs (Highly Attractive Consumables) at believably tempting prices.

That said, he/she could be completely genuine and somebody will get a bargain.

I do question how he/she can offer the 2 year warranty normally only available from Pentax Pro dealers.

Of the modern 4X4's I think the Nissan X-Trail is well respected. Whilst I'd love another Landie, I might have to compromise on go-anywhere ability for something a bit more affordable. Somehow, I don't think even a second hand Land Cruiser would fit the 'affordable' criteria.

A friend of mine has a 2 year old LWB Vitara (LHD on spanish plates) that might be up for grabs soon, I'll maybe have a look at that as it's probably more comfortable with more refined aircon (a must in the spanish summer) than any 'proper' Land Rover (which excludes disco's and RR's).

I might even have a look at a decent quad-bike. Decisions, decisions.

What are the newer Range Rovers like for rot in the tailgate, which was was a common problem in the older models?
I've no idea about the new models. I don't like the look of them and I'm certainly not in any financial position to buy one.

I'm looking at buying a Santana. Land Rover, but Spanish built. Chances are I'll end up with an old Suzuki though.

I just want something to explore the dirt tracks around my home and have some certainty of getting home.

I thought maybe it was the power pack for a new range of HDM lenses . . . Hydraulic Drive Motor.

It didn't sell at £100, only £50 now, grab a bargain and be the only kid on the block to own one.
