HELP Just opened the box! Battery charging !

: Do I really need to load above software - I already have Photoshop CS2 & Elements 2 already installed and have used them for editing my compact digi pics in the past.
But now I have entered the scary world of RAW & DNG and not sure if I need to load more software on my computer for this puppy :

now there's an idea Harry, to put on the back burner....

Just to say 10 out of 10 for Picstop, ordered my Sandisk Extreme3 yesterday 3pm and it arrived on my doorstep 0900 this am in Cornwall, before I had even got up to collect my K10D from Jessops today, amazing service!
I now have the K10D in my hot mits, will keep you informed

Thank you guys - knew you wd save me some dosh! Looks like I shall go for Spirit of Wills recc. of the above at £37.90 at picstop. loads more mem. a good price and according to spec will put up with extreme wx conditons, seeing I am off to Oz bush territory later in year!

Jessops have just called to say my K10D has arrived for collection, off tomorrow to collect my puppy
: is : any recommendations as to what SD card to buy, I see they have the above for £55, bit more than Jessops own make- is it worth paying more for SanDisk and wd a 1GB be the best first buy for me?

if it hadn't been for this very helpful site and bunch of guys I would be totally in the dark trying to make up my mind regarding going K10D.
Although I am and have been a Pentax user for the past 15-20 year it was very frustrating not getting any replies to my emails to them, so thank you forum too - for being there!

Tho I dont seem to have a preview box of how preview file size , so had to try and see as I went along.

I was working along the right lines before I called for help, but thought they might be an easier way thru it all, apparently not!

I imagine if you have to do a bulk amount of images you wd need a special software to do that.

I wonder why Pentax imports in at 72dpi, when my lil 'ol Canon Powershot comes in at 180dpi, does my head in

I am going to submit a few images to local paper and they asked for them to be 300dpi and max size 1MB

In PS Image Size :
I adjusted resolution to 300 per/inch

Now, I presume I have to adjust width and height pixels
can anyone tell me what those should be :
also read here I sd select bicubic sharper too?


not very understanding this bit of digital yet, I have tried reading up on it but getting more and more

'scuse me for being a bit thick - but, you say cd use it on manual mode but the flash does not seem to have that option - its either on or off. does that mean its not useable with K10D?
