as you can see, my capacity for interesting post titles has failed me again..
If it's a bit too tall for your screen, hit F11.

Raw converted in RSE, and polished up in GIMP.

I suggest Geilo in Norway. I went skiing there a few years ago, and they have grass for only 3 months a year. They were waiting for the thaw to build a golf course IIRC.
Apart from it being -21 at the top and £5 for a 1/2 litre of lager, it was good though.

that would have been around 7.30 ish, so I was about the fourth person down that particular path.. before the kids wrecked everything..
I left for work about 6.50, but it was a little too dark then, which was a shame, as there were some lovely views through the woods.
I took some later on in the day, and I haven't decided on mono for them or not.. you'll all find out later.

I walked to work yesterday as well.. Here's one of the shots I took.

I think it's all those sunsets.. I'm starting to make everything I post contain orange in it somewhere.

...
Very nice but I reckon it could do with a bit more contrast, I feel the left side could do with a lift, but then again what do I know
I could try working on it with seashore (free image editing software for mac).
If you use OS X then there is a GIMP package for it.. free.

I use GIMP for all post RAW work. It'll have everything you'll ever need in a free package.
Hope that helps. I don't know a thing about Macs, but once it's running, I'll help you work with it.

absolutely excellent shot.. and for the moment I concede your victory..
I decided I'd had enough this evening when I looked at a rig with two lenses, 2 TCs, extention tubes... and wait for it..
2 loo roll insides, taped together to make a 9" ext tube
I'd actually cut slots for tapers, and used insulation tape for a light sealed join and everything. And while I was doing it, I never thought I was in the slightest bit odd.
Length of rig.. around two feet..
I'm going to go and get ready then get a few beers now.. try and restore what little sanity still remains.
Roger's wife is right.. aren't they all if we were honest.

Crazy !
Wouldn't it be easier just to get a microscope?? Say a scanning-electron one
Matt
In the same vein, Captain Webb could've just got the ferry..
Hmmm.. I wonder if you can reverse a 500mm mirror lens..
I'll find out soon enough. DOF in microns.. anyone for doughnuts.

first.. your photo doesn't display.. although I've followed the link and it's pretty good..
OK, so it does now..
I noticed that about the dirt.. I'll have to give everything a good clean.
I used a tripod, but I hung it pointing down and used the centre column winch handle as a focussing adjuster. As long as it's perpendicular, it works fine.
