Interesting that you find the 150-450 unsuitable for Dragonflies. A recent shot, handheld (in good light) - Norfolk Hawker

I have also been successful with using it with the 1.4 TC for the same subject, this was on a monopd though.

Not showing off, just showing it's possible.

Evening. A few of my shots from this Summer. I do love taking Butterfly shots, remarkably hairy beasts!

Excellent shots. The last one is a False Widow, do not get bitten!
Cool, thanks for the ID, never seen one before, its made its home in the rosemary
I'd leave it be Pretty venomous, and some people have been badly affected. They are beautiful though.

Ha ha I would never have guessed. I don't remember seeing anything that exotic looking when I lived in Haywards heath, many moons ago.

Haha. Excellent. These were taken at Malling Down, near Lewes.

Great first photo post.
What part of the world are you in, that is one weird looking spider, rather exotic looking, and Big.

Is it dangerous or harmless ?

Good shooting.

Derek
Thanks. South of England, Sussex, though I have shots of these from Essex too. They are originally from the continent though. Entirely harmless as well, unless you are a Bee, Hoverfly or Butterfly I guess 😁

Evening. My first picture upload here. Some images taken this weekend, the first on the 150-450, and the others on the Macro as I could get in close on this one. Love these Spiders, that are becoming more widespread. Nice Bee for lunch too.

Nice shots, love orb weavers and their like. Curious, what benefit do the tubes give you? Better DOF, or shooting from a greater distance? Thanks
Cheers,
The tubes will reduce your available working distance, but increase the magnification.
Macro lens at closest focusing distance can reproduce 1:1 ratio
With tubes you can get greater than that without being at closest focusing distance.
I don't know the reproduction scales, maybe someone on here can chip in.
Ahh cool. Thanks. I often use my 1.4TC with the 100mm Macro.
