Even better clarity and sharpness of focus on these ones Derek. Again the OOF backgrounds are very nice and complementary.

Yes indeed - really 'ORRIBLE ! Nice job.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Nice shots, love orb weavers and their like. Curious, what benefit do the tubes give you? Better DOF, or shooting from a greater distance? Thanks

Cheers,
The tubes will reduce your available working distance, but increase the magnification.
Macro lens at closest focusing distance can reproduce 1:1 ratio
With tubes you can get greater than that without being at closest focusing distance.
I don't know the reproduction scales, maybe someone on here can chip in.

Ahh cool. Thanks. I often use my 1.4TC with the 100mm Macro.

Mmm tc's work differently from tubes, as tubes have no glass. Using tc's is not something that I am familiar with for macro work.
Cheers
