Thanks John, I will persevere and hope I can find a solution; these things happen on all sites and in general I realy like the PU site; if anybody else has any ideas they would be much appreciated

Sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't, regardless of size ( large or small).

Anyone else experiencing this and if so is there a fix ?

Hi Vic;,

Do you mean power zoom lenses or "automatic zoom lenses" ?

The power zooms were activated by a drive and didn't require you to rotate the zoom barrel manually to extend or retract the lens.

The recent photo on PU classifieds (below) shows a 28-105 power zoom, which I have (still) together with a 100-300 and they were decent lenses in their day for sure.

The zoom could be operated by a slight twist either way on the "scolloped" ring around the lens body which initiated the zoom extenstion/retraction

If an "automatic zoom" is something different I would be very interested to learn more about them.,

Thanks Mike, the contact is much appreciated too,

Have fun with it

Best regards
