I planned to buy a Pentax 12-24mm F4 off a forum member all was going swimmingly or so I thought! Anyway I had previously owned a Sigma 8-16mm from my D7000 (Nikon) and it'd nagged at me when comparing the two Lenses, even resolution across the frame and constant aperture (Pentax) and WIIIDE too wide? (Sigma), I'd kinda settled on the Pentax and must have mentioned it to my long suffering Camera Widow (Partener) more than just the once
She came home yesterday evening from a "Shopping" trip to the toon with a brand new Sigma 8-16mm in pentax fit (Handy!), having done quite a good deal with the poor salesman in the Camera Shop (Poor guy didn't know what hit him probably!) Not quite as good as the SRS Ebay offer but not far off, she managed to knock a hundred quid off and it has been bought with the proviso that "Youre not selling it, even if you change Camera's AGAIN!"
Had to change my Sig back and everything...

here's one of the old Harbour at Port Carlisle, which used to be served by a Railway, one of the most short lived Railways on the UK Mainland I think but don't quote me on that.

And another from the same Bike ride along the Solway Coast again showing the Harbour but also a Boat hauled out for Winter and wrapped up against the elements...

The mud is like Quicksand

Took some Pans the same day but I'm having trouble getting em to stitch straight in PTGUI and Auto Giga Pano, might be beacuase I never hand hold a camera straight anyway!
Yes I know about the level! And I was carrying my Gorillapod too but didn't use it, sheesh!

But then it wouldn't be lonely and folorn, would it?
But I get your point, there was no one around however and I don't do self portraits, ugh, lenses aren't strong enough

I've just bought the 17-70, my first DA or SDM lens, I can't compare it to the others. I really needed something wider than my FA 28-80 for my K-5. I did briefly consider the 16-50 but the extra 20mm fits my lens coverage (not to mention budget) better. First impressions are very good (and a massive improvement over the FA lens).
Already enjoying mine and have forgotten about the spinning focus ring thing, almost entirely!

Thanks all, Yes Mike 17-70, damn that Lens, it fits pretty much all my most used Landscape range and I've hardly had cause to put the 60-250 on the K5 yet

You learn everyday! I have seen these "Hybrid" looking Blackbirds around but had no idea they had even been given a name, thankyou and what wonderful images...

I am almost sure that the one on the picture is a " dummy". Look at the IR sensor. Looks like painted. On the real one the sensor is recessed because of the bigger grip. In reality the silver K-5 doesn't look like painted. The feel/look is more like solid metal.
I've got the silver and the black but using mostly the black with a BG-4
because of the bigish zooms( F 2.. Without a GB-4 the bigger grip on the silver one makes a differance.

The pictured camera appears to be a computer generated render.
Yes the more I look at it the more I come to that conclusion too, Thanks for the info on the original Silver version too Georges, hadn't realised there were size differences in the grips just the contouring of it, thats interesting...
Well to me at least...
