Just been reading rumors of one more release from Ricoh brfore the end of the year!

Any guesses?

645DII?
Lenses?
Couldn't be the convertor could it? My god that would punch a hole through the space time continuum

My D7000 only ever has a 70-200mm f/2.8 VR on it and works very very well. If I put my Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 on the K5 it does not come close as far as tracking and AF speed. I get great results from my Pentax's for long exposures if and when I do that type of shot.

Best regards
D7000 walks all over the K5II for tracking moving subjects, the D300, walks all over the the D7000, The K5 walks all over them both, in pretty much everything else though

I'm hoping the latest Sony sensor with the New milbeaut will give faster and cleaner files than the Toshiba because the processing should be superior, it may not give a vastly better signal to noise ratio but I'm not expecting to see as much banding and colour blotching when the files are pushed a bit...

Joe Blogs won't even ask what brand the imaging sensor is and just as well as the sales person probably won't know or even care.
True, but it's nice to be at least optimistic that the K-3 sensor won't suffer from the long-exposure banding that the D7100 is alleged to.

I haven't researched it to any depth, but it's not hard to find people that think that it's worse than the D7000 in this respect.
Thats part of what I'm hoping too...

Ta! For the info Smeggy and Rich. I had peaking on my Sony A77 it was one of the things I liked about it but little else, A technological marvel for sure but less than the sum of it's parts. Peaking intrigues for it's uses with fastish glass and in low light, might be worth investing in a couple of old manual primes on the cheap just for kicks...

The new Mark11 Jessops is an improvement over the old now defunct earlier model, at least at The MetroCentre on Tyneside. Staff are far more helpful with Pentax inquiries than at the previous now defunct model. The store is bigger and has a dedicated Ricoh Pentax section. OK it's set further back in the store than the two leading brand names but staff have a positive attitude.
On my first visit when the store had just opened a salesman wearing a Pentax t-shirt answered my queries.
I went in a couple of days ago to ask about the K3 and the salesman (Canon t-shirt) was most helpful.

It looks like also Richo is doing a lot better in terms of promotion and dealing with retailers if there is space for Pentax. And if staff is more knowledgeable, Richo is investing in training, etc...
Indeed they are Giorgio!
The business model is much improved, alas my towns Jessops, is now a trendy bar called "Eaten by Monsters"!
As I have said before we now only have a Wilkinson Camera's, which has a fine selection of Pentax and a newly achieved "Pentax Pro Centre" status. Staff seem to be well trained if a little robotic in their knowledge of the brand but much much better than I have experienced in recent years. Was in there yesterday just having a bit of a crack, chuckling to myself as there was a D300s owner in there having a heated discussion with the manager about, the fact that "The new Pentax should have been a Nikon!" How "The D7100 was not a substitute" and "Where is his upgrade path?" How he "Didn't want a FF because he'd need a 600mm Lens for his wildlife shots!" and "Who the hell is going to buy one of those!" He was giving the Manager a pretty hard time actually, which was a little uncalled for because he can only sell the products he's got.
Nearly all of the current range of Pentax is in stock save for the K5IIs, which can be ordered, they've even got the GR and the MX-1.
so it's K500/K50/K5II/Q7/Q10/GR/MX-1, not bad, not bad at all...
Canon wise it's a 6D/7D/70D/Dremmel or whatever they call it! And a G15
Nikons D600/D800/D7100/D5200/J2/V2
Pretty fair really...

Just wondering How accurate is the peaking can anyone with a K-01 or a K30 chime in?

Pleased about the Sensor being confirmed as a Sony and not the Toshiba
5105 probably an updated derivative of the Sony IMX096AQL found in the A77, and probably destined for the Nex6 or 7 update. It'll be one year more advanced than the current Toshiba, so there is a bit of hope to steal a march on caNikon at least for short time. That will of course be dependant on how much of a threat Nikon in particular sees the K3, My personal view will be not at all, as they seem to have their eyes firmly fixed on Canon at all times. Everyone is grabbing market share off them at the moment, like stealing from a baby! The K3 seems to be causing a bit of a fuss over in Nikon DX land. If Canon jumps so will Nikon, then it will get interesting but for a little bit maybe just maybe Pentax could claim to be the king of the APSC DSLR???
I have high hopes for the K3, one of which is that all the claims made by Ricoh ain't just hot air!
