Oh....Thanks John, I just had a look.

That is a lovely idea, and now that I know, I will indeed keep a watch.

I had indeed kept my silver K-3 updated.....so somehow the problem came from another internal source. They did replace a switch ......I am very happy that it has been returned and is working great, so far!

Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories and advice.

Repaired and returned....so far so good! No cost to me. I bought the camera in October 2013, with the two year Canadian warranty everything was covered.

I love having my camera back!

I shall be happy to share the outcome of my plight, especially with my Pentax caretakers!

Poor Daronl, what a unfortunate thing. I will trust that we both have a reasonably okay outcome.

Went to Mexico for a month, used my camera everyday, taking hundreds of photos a day. A wee problem which had happened once or twice since I owned my camera, was now accruing many times a day. My mirror was locked up...with a flapping noise that sounded like a rapid firing gun. My camera would not turn off, (had to remove the battery). White balance became useless, everything was blown out...even if I stopped all the way down...then for the icing on the cake, Auto focus did what ever it wanted to, except focus!

Here in Canada, Pentax cameras are under a two year warranty, I bought mine on the first release, in October 2013. The warranty expires this fall.

So I packed up my beloved silver K-3 , said good bye and sent it off to our one and only repair shop in Canada!

Here I sit broken hearted, and everywhere I look, there is SOMETHING that needs to be photographed.

My daughter says I can use her K-r, if I take the kids for the spring break....I am making the beds in the spare room , right away.......

Wish me the best..(with the camera)..... I can handle the kids, if I can take their photos!

Hi Ken and Welcome.

I just want to share that I just bought the DA35 f2.4 and it is a fantastic lens paid $140 USA dollar.

Here in Canada it has been tag as "fantastic plastic"...it is a cheap lens made all of plastic, but it is the best all round prime lens I have have ever owned. It so reminds me of the days when I ran around taking film photos with my K1000.

it is razor sharp and my photos have simple gone to the next level with this lens. Find one...buy it. I PROMISE you will not regret it!!

Both taken with the 35mm...it has the wow factor this lens!!!!!

Kind of agree with Smeggypants...they are overdone....it is more like looking at a style of painting. Like taking a photo and then processing it until you have a painted magical effect.

It had it own appeal for sure. It is indeed a new age style. Something that we will no doubt see more and more of as we advance forward with new digital tools that can process our work into new heights.
I too can see the incredible shots that he captured. He has a great ability to compose, frame and capture his subjects.

It would also be a neat way to save or transform a blurred image into a piece of art!

Your software more than likely does not support the RAW format that you used.

. And if not mistaken, you need to set the camera to the DNG raw format and not PEF one.

Okay Wim...It was set on PEF and not DNG!!!!!!
I will try a shoot right away...even though I should be in bed sleeping right now
