Just wondering if those of you who were into photography when the Pentax MX came out could suggest what sort of camera it would compare to in today's digital world.

Would it be the Nikon D3, D700 or D300 or maybe lower down in the range ? or perhaps there may be a Canon it could be better compared with ?

I agree totally.

Like I said if they had charged £10 for RMSD and it had come to say £6.70 or so I probably wouldn't have minded as they had used the stated postage method, but choosing a lesser postage method and making more money I am not too happy about.

Hi

I have just bought a Pentax MX on ebay and have a question about the P & P costs I was charged.

The item was advertised as being shipped using RMSD at a cost of £10. I accepted this when I bid on the item. The item was not sent RMSD and the cost was only £4.45 to ship so the seller has made some money from the shipping costs (it was put in an old box with brown paper and brown tape so no great packaging cost).

I am thinking about contacting the seller to reimburse the difference in postage costs before leaving feedback to give them a chance.

If it had been set using RMSD and the cost had been slightly less than a tenner I would probably not been bothered, but since they didn't send it using the stated method and at a far cheaper cost to themselves I'm not too happy.

Any advice ?

Two more quick questions.

What batteries do I need for the light meter on the MX ? and what sort of retailers would readily stock them (I'll be out today but not near a photographic shop) ?

If I decide to use slide film what method's are available to view them or put them on to the PC ?

Thanks

I'm not saying to manually focus the shot but to auto focus it and leave it at that point and make the adjustments on camera to see which one is the correct one. You would then make the adjustments in camera for each subsequent shot and see which adjustment point was the best.

Confusing myself even more now.

Hi

When checking for front/back focussing issues with a specific lens and K20D do you focus once then change the focussing mode to manual so it doesn't refocus when changing the adjustments from -10 through +10 ?

or do you leave the focus switch to af-s so it focus's before each shot ?

Jason.

Your Ltd will look great on the MX.
It'll look the business but it won't work unfortunately - there's no aperture ring on the 35 Ltd...
It's not important that I can't take pictures, what's important is it'll look good while I can't.

Thanks for the imput.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't paying over the odds for it. The MX's seem to have been going for about £60ish lately on ebay so I thought this one with the 50mm f1.7 lens for £76 seemed to be a good price especially if the lens is in excellent condition.. It does say only 1 or 2 minor marks on the body too.
