I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but here goes.

I bought a jessops SV-8 slide viewer 2 weeks ago and have been waiting with baited breath for my first set of slides to come back from my new MX.

I only bought the cheapest processed paid slides I could get which were the boots own brand ones to check the camera's shutter speeds mainly.

I have just got the slides back today and they are mounted in cardboard and plastic which doesn't fit in the viewer.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Which slide film should I get to be sure that they will fit into the viewer when mounted ?

Thanks
Jason

Looks like they must have sold out now as I just checked the same place on the website where I found them earlier and they are not their.

To me the cropped images do draw your attention into the eyes more but I think the orignal puts the picture in the context that Paul was trying to portray.

Short and Sweet (nearly)

- Bought a Nikon D50
- Upgraded to a Nikon D70s
- Upgraded to a Nikon D200
- Sold all the camera gear when young family arrived.
- Decided I missed photography as a hobby wanted to start again without the big expense.
- Looked for an excellent value DSLR and the K20D came up as the ideal camera.
- As you can see by my profile it has got nearly as expensive as before.

Do I regret selling my Nikon gear ? nope I would pick the K20D anytime over the D200. Best bang for buck camera on the market.

I telephoned both of these two yesterday about service prices for the MX.

IIRC Asahi Photo were £60 plus VAT while Harrow were £56 (£10 discount on the £66 price until the end of May). Harrow also said there was no VAT, not sure if they meant it was in the price or with older cameras (like cars) there is no VAT.

If you give them a call can you ask if they want to sell that 16-50mm to me for £20 ?

Thanks

I'm going to stay sat on the fence and say that the first one keeps my attention more but the second one's colours and action is makes for a good picture.

That post also says

"the f/1.4 is the bokeh king"

so I guess it depends what's more important to you. All I know is that I would never want/need anything sharper than my 1.4 as it is scaringly sharp and I would rather have the awesome Bokeh too.

Leaving punch/sparkle or any other word out of it I prefer the 2nd one.
