Comment by JonSchick posted on 35mm PKA lenses at Mr. Cad at 22/07/2010 - 12:16
A word of warning - Mr Cad don't mention the condition of the lenses in the listing. I bought from them once and the lens was dog-rough.
Actually they are good if you phone and ask them to describe the lens to you. But I suspect the only 35mm lens they have that is in really good condition is the SMCM which they're advertising at well over £100. I would not order from them without either phoning first or preferably going there yourself. It's a great place to visit; crammed full of all kinds of goodies, but you need to shop with care.

I have never read that Samsung upgraded the original lens, so you may notice some improvement with the GX20 using the WR version. But it's unlikely to be quite as good as the Sigma.

WR 50-200 at 200mm f5.6 - this is a crop of about 60% of the image (from the centre):

Another at full tele and wide open:

200mm at f10:

150mm at f7.1:

Personally, I think it's a decent little lens and certainly sounds like just the job for Lewis! One thing that has impressed me is the colours that come from it - quite nice rich tones, notably warmer than some of the independent brands.

Maybe instead there could be a subscriber part of this website where additional in-depth articles are posted (preferably more frequently than quarterly)? Actually, an electronic version with links to - for example - full size image samples to illustrate the subject matter, could be a convincing move on from magazine format - and would obviously also mean PU could become iPad friendly too!
