Bobbaw, you are second in line but dcbrookes appears to have gone ahead with the purchase.

I have had this lens for only six months but used it a lot. The reason I'm selling is that I managed to get a hold of the rarer AF version and prefer to keep that. The lens is in excellent condition and everything works well. It has the A setting for the aperture so all exposure modes are available. It's great reputation is well deserved & it's sharp and contrasty even wide open. Some people report flares with the lens but I've seen none whatsoever, but I always use a hood.

Here are a few shots taken with the lens (the first & last were taken wide open). I will take some shots of the lens itself in the next few days to add here.

I'm asking for £70 delivered in the UK. The lens will come with both caps (the rear one is the original Sigma). I don't use paypal, so payment will be either by bank transfer, or cash if you want to collect in person (in the Edinburgh area).

Thanks for looking.

I think the K200D screen is a bit smaller than that of the higher grade cameras, which is why neither the screens nor the shims from them will work

Hi all,

After having a Katzeye screen installed for over a year, my K200D has suddenly developed a front focus problem when manually focusing using split prism. The screen was previously perfect without installing any shims. I haven't made any adjustments to the camera or screen to cause this and I've checked that the screen is properly locked in place.

The front focus is around 10mm at minimum focus distance with a 50mm lens and due to DoF disappears at f/4, but is visible with apertures larger than that. There is also a front focus at infinity (at any aperture), where the AF beep/light seems accurate while the split prism indicates that the subject is slightly out of focus.

Can anyone recommend a place to get a selection of shims for the K200D and a screen replacement tool, as I cannot find my original screen & tool from Katzeye. Does anyone have these items & willing to sell? Is it worth contacting Pentax UK or SRS, as the K200D is listed as not having a replaceable screen?

Many thanks for any help

I'm still waiting for mine, though it was sent on Tuesday. I'm itching to see exactly how much light it lets through wide open compared to the Tammy 17-50, as some have reported it seems faster than the stated f/2.4.

Virtually all (if not all) my lenses focus slightly beyond infinity. On the AF lenses it's more noticeable, but even the old manual lenses need to be tweaked slightly back from the maximum focus to be 100% accurately focused to infinity.

Hoodes are good - they improve IQ while providing good protection, as they're plastic or rubber.

Filters are bad - the reduce IQ (sometimes drasticaslly) while providing virtually no protection. If the lens falls & breaks, the attached filter will break, likely scratching the glass of the front element.

As has been said already, protective filters should only be used when there's a lot of much flying around, not in normal circumstances.
