K55 sold.

28-80 still available, I'll post some shots taken with it as soon as I can.

I was looking for a scanner until I read an interesting article about photographing negatives using a 1:1 macro lens, taking several shots (6 or more for a 120 negative) and combining them as a panorama. Not tried it yet but will be as soon as I have made a decent light-table.
I read this too. I'm not sure what the results will be like but the setup must be hard, the process will be very slow, plus the PP necessary without the dedicated scanner software would make it a real pain.

I have several manual 28s, and all good ones, but I don't use them that much. They do make decent (if slow) standard lenses when I'm not in a hurry and want to use a manual lens. If I need AF then I have the 35 ltd and the DAL 35 too, so they tend to get more use.

I do often use my 50mm lenses though, as their speed makes them very useful, and the length is great for portraits and capturing small details of scenes, which are the things I like most.

I plan to shoot more film in 2013, especially medium format.

I also plan to be more forward in asking people if I can take their picture, and not losing out on photographic opportunities through shyness.

These are general plans for the forseeable future, not new year's resolutions. NYRs are made to be broken. If you want to do something, do it, never mind the time of year.

I have a V500 and it performs well enough, medium format (645) scans come out much better than 35mm. The software is not very intuitive and has some bugs though.

You haven't specified what format of film you'll be scanning?

I understand that if you want good resolution you'll need a dedicated film scanner, not a flatbed. So that depends on what you're going to use the output for.

This unequivocally proves it: DPR has slightly more Oly fanboys than it has Nikon fanboys than it has Canon fanboys.

When I bought my 645 in the summer it came with this focusing screen installed and the standard screen separately. I've decided I prefer the standard screen so I'm selling this one. It has the central split image prism without microprism collar. Some people will prefer this screen as it is "cleaner" than the standard screen. The screen is in perfect condition and comes with case, box and the special tool for changing the screen.

Special focusing screens for the 645 are often priced at double what I've listed this for. As I realise it's a specialist item and I don't want the sale to take ages, I have priced it low.

Please note that while I now live in Madrid, I will be in the UK for a week from the 20th of January, so I am happy to post from there if you're not in a great hurry. This will be cheaper than posting from Madrid and I prefer it as the Spanish post office, to my knowledge, do not offer tracking & insurance on parcels to the UK. Postaqe costs below are from the UK, if you want it sent sooner (from Spain) then please add another £4.

Payment by bank transfer to my UK account is preferred, though Paypal is possible if you are willing to cover any additional fees imposed.

£20 + £5 postage.
