The SFXn goes up to 1/4000s which is helpful as I needed to use ISO 400 film to get shots at night but wanted to have good control over aperture and shutter speed during the day too. The M 50mm f/1.7 is a great normal prime for the purpose - small, light, very sharp and if it got lost it would be easy to replace.
I used Lomography CN 400 and Fuji Superia Premium 400 (of which I bought a couple of rolls in Japan this summer, as it's only available there).
So here are a selection of my favourite shots from the event. I like the results overall and I especially feel that film is good at capturing atmosphere and stage lighting at this kind of event.

I'd sell almost whatever it took to get the funds for a lens like that.

For narrow streets I'd be inclined to use a standard (35mm-ish on APS-C) or something wide but not too wide, such as the 21mm. I find that using anything wider for a shot of a street results in too much wall and road and not enough of what makes that street interesting (if you see what I mean).
Many, many people (especially Americans visiting the relatively narrow streets of Europe) say "oh, you must have an ultra-wide in Europe" but that's really not the case. Ultra-wide angle lenses are generally over-used these days and their benefits over-sold. Many images (probably even the majority) taken with them would have been better with a narrower field of view.

It's usually a good idea to always have the latest firmware installed to avoid any potential compatibility problems with items such as lenses, teleconverters etc and also to fix any minor bugs which have been identified.
Looking at the list of changes, the most important ones are for improved reliability of recording to SDXC cards and for improved low-light AF.

These are very nice shots, though I'd say there's maybe a little too much contrast in some of these and I suspect some would also be excellent in black & white.

Good stuff.. Well executed.
Some strong atmosphere being brought out, especially the stage ones with the diagonal light beams and smoke! The colour balance looks natural, and there are some bold colours and depth to the tones. Very interesting to see what can be done on film ....being limited to ISO 400 means you really do need the light gathering capacity of your lens!
I am impressed by the variety and strength of compositions given the fixed focal length.
There is a fair bit of noise in the blacks and other smooth areas.... is this film grain or is it coming from the digital scan? If so I wonder if the scanner software has some NR function that might improve it?
I never really felt limited by the ISO. I noticed the limitation in focal length and it would have been nice to have something wider and also longer (though for longer focal lengths the ISO 400 limitation might have resulted in blurred images) but I would have spent time changing lenses and I was there more to enjoy the music and atmosphere than to take pictures. I do love the simplicity of a single fast standard prime.
Yes, there's quite a lot of noise and in a few photos I used noise reduction to reduce it a bit but didn't want to go over the top and lose sharpness or atmosphere. The noise doesn't bother me in most cases. Scanning (at least with my scanner) introduces more grain than would be present in a good print but I'm not going to print myself and then scan, which would be the work-around.
