A little clarity here on powers under which part of the Terrorism Act 2000 a Police Officer ie not a PCSO, may take action;

Under section 43 of the Terrorism Act 2000 a police officer may stop and search a person they reasonably suspect to be a terrorist, to discover whether that person has in their possession anything which may constitute evidence that they are a terrorist. This power can be exercised at any time and in any location.

NOTE - '..reasonably suspect..'

Under section 44, uniformed police officers may stop and search anyone within an authorised area, etc

NOTE - reasonable suspicion is not required, but if that exists then section 43 should be used.

NOTE - 'authorised areas' are secret for the purposes of National Security, but are known to Police, etc.

If you're stopped under section 44, first question should surely be 'Is this an authorised area for the purposes of the Terrorism Act 2000?'.

Forum members who are Police Officers may wish to confirm that PCSO's are not given powers under the Terrorism Act (unless accompanied by a Police Officer).

Can you actually clone in Lightroom?
It's the one thing that stops me using it 100% of the time.
You can, sort of, using the Spot Removal tool, which gives you a choice of 'Clone' or 'Heal', but it's clear that you're really expected to jump over to, and use, Photoshop for this.

When you say 'the LCD screen works', what are you actually seeing on it?

John I have used the same setup as you are (2x AF160 flash heads) without any problems at all.

Here is my setup, looks like an alien, take me to your leader.

Thanks Clarky. Your rig is a lot more sophisticated than mine, but it answers my query.

Where did you get the arms?

Thanks again Stefan. Main point of the post was (a) to see what more experienced forum members had to say, and (b) to seek reassurance that I wouldn't be zapping my camera

I have the Pentax lens. I have no experience of the Tamron, but don't miss the focus limiter. I can't say I've experienced the min-to-max focus range hunting that a limiter is supposed to prevent.

I let the lens do it's thing in AF then fine-tune focus manually.

To be honest you might be better of getting an ring flash, though.
Thanks Stefan.

I have looked at both the Pentax hot shoe adapters and the ring flash route, and at the moment don't want to commit to spending too much, hence using the PC sync cables, etc. I already have the bracket(s), and reckon I could buy all the other components for less than £30.

Cheap way to experiment

I want to use two AF160's with my K20D to provide lighting for macro work. They'll be mounted on brackets either side of, and close to, the macro lens.

The plan is to connect the two flashguns to the camera using PC sync cables.

Is the resulting trigger voltage likely to cause damage to the camera?

As far as I can determine these flashguns have a trigger voltage of around 4v each.

Also, would it be best to (a) link them to the camera PC socket via a 'Y' adapter, or (b) via the camera hot shoe using a multi-PC adapter?
