I can remove the shadow from her right cheek, and lighten her left cheek, do you think that would improve things?
I'd think so, but be interesting to see what other feed-back you get first. We all see things so differently.

Lovely image, but...

I find the catch lights slightly distracting because they're not identical.

Also, I'm having problems with the various shadows cast on the models face by the pearls, plus the uneven lighting.

Arrived to-day. So well packed it probably took me longer to open and unwrap than the Royal Mail took getting it to London from Scotland!

Looking forward to trying it out. Nice little walk round lens I hope

Thanks

I suggest you post some examples of poor images so members can look at the EXIF data.

Out of interest, what does this work with best? Would it, for example, be any good with DA* zooms?

Just to add to the debate, each time I return from a shoot/trip I backup my images immediately to three separate hard disks, cataloguing as I go. ie images are backed up to disk 1, sorted into respective folders, then disk 1 is copied in it's entirety to disks 2 and 3. Then all three disks are compared to ensure they are identical. If all are ok, then finally the SD card is re-formatted in the camera it's to be used in next.

Hard disks are so (relatively) cheap these days Vs. losing an irreplaceable image there really is no excuse for going a bit OTT with multiple back-ups.

I appreciate that the HD's are vulnerable too, so am planning archiving to archival quality CD/DVD media.

The reason behind all this? I once lost some photographs of my children with my Mum on her 70th, which turned out to be three days before she died unexpectedly. That really brought home the value and vulberability of memories.

When travelling I (a) back up the SD cards to a SmartDisk storage device, (although this needs to be repalced as it is only 40gb capacity and won't accept SDHC), plus (b) keep the SD cards unused and locked until I get home.

As I final piece of belt and braces, I normally only use maximum 2 or 4gb cards to make sure that images from a shoot/trip are not all in one basket.

Maybe I should run a poll to see whether I'm the most OTT Forum member when it comes to image storage? Somehow I doubt it
