I've heard on multiple occasions that the AF adjustments are not cumulative. Also done brief tests on my own to confirm this was true. Interesting to hear they are indeed cumulative on Smeggy's cameras

I had similar problems with my B+W 10 stop.
I had not used the eyepiece cover, I think that this way well be the problem.
I have tried again, used black cloth, as forgot cover on 2nd outing , no problems .

Don't take this the wrong way, but if this indeed proves to be a camera fault I hope this it's peculiar to your K5 and not indicative of another K5 ice-berg!
I'd like to go along with Yves suggestion, but the marks seem too consistent. I'm guessing if due to reflections you'd see changes depending which direction the cameras facing.
And I've just noticed you apparently changed the filter combo between shots, so not many variables left.
Really like your work, by the way! And as you say, this problem doesn't appear on other K5 shots in your portfolio.

Any chance it's something to do with interaction between the filters? Coking filters are known to cause purple colour casts.
The marks look like smears; I would have expected sensor issues to manifest themselves as dead straight lines?

a very simple procedure if this ever hapens to you.
if you are with held by secourity in a public place, note public place not private property call the p police & report you are beimn g witheld by persons unknown & feel in danger. the police have to respond as you reported a crime.
a security guard has no powers to touch you or hold you against your will. they can make a citizens arresy if you have commited a crime. but you must have commited a crime.
Private Citizens may arrest:
Anybody who is in the act of committing an arrestable offence
Anybody with whom they have reasonable grounds for suspecting to be committing an arrestable offence
Where an arrestable offence has been committed, anybody who is guilty of the offence, or anyone whom they have reasonable grounds for suspecting.
It is important to note that when a private citizen is going to arrest anybody with whom they have reasonable grounds for suspecting to be committing an arrestable offence – they must actually have reasonable grounds for suspecting, they cannot perform a citizen’s arrest on the basis of gossip, lies, being a photographer, etc.

So John, are you saying put an existing remote with a modified swich close or attached to the camera and then trigger that with a wired or RF switch/ transmitter. Good idea but I'm not sure if I'm quite electronically up to doing the mod!
The switch will be quite simple; no electronics as such.
What remote(s) are you using?

If the latter, I have, and can highly recommend, Optech straps. They genuinely make the camera/lens feel lighter and are very comfortable.
