I have the funds for a 35mm f2.4 hidden away, but if the postman delivered two parcels to my front door whilst the the wife was in, I would almost certainly living dangerously and not for a little while either

Compact, well built ultra-wide lens for Pentax K, KA cameras and AF models. Capable of matching or bettering the image quality of equivalent camera manufacturers own brand lenses (YES! Even Leitz), this lens received rave reviews when released. Highly respected and almost legendary in performance, still rated as one of the best ultra-wide lenses ever made.
Japanese Sigma lens
Compact and lightweight
Macro focusing to 1:4
Multicoated (MC) glass
Pentax-friendly design
For Pentax K SLRs
For Pentax KA SLRs
For AF SLRs
For DSLRs
Includes front/rear caps.
Includes Sigma ‘Perfect hood’ lens hood
Sigma is one of the top independent lens manufacturers, and this lens is beautifully made (in Japan), with smooth controls, metal barrel and lens mount, comprehensive markings, and a very high standard of fit and finish. This focal length is excellent for landscapes, group shots, architecture, travelling, holidays, family pictures and many more subjects.
Maximum aperture is f/2.8, and apertures stop down to f/22 with half stops between all settings. Locking A (Auto) setting for shutter priority and program modes, or use on AF cameras. Auto diaphragm and full aperture metering on all PK and KA cameras, compatible with all metering and exposure modes, including program.
Focusing runs from infinity down to 0.18m for a reproduction ratio of up to 1:4 (1/4 life size on the film negative or sensor) Distances are clearly marked in feet and meters, with basic depth of field. The focus action works the same way as Pentax lenses - anti-clockwise from infinity to close up - which is the opposite to most independent lenses, and convenient if you mix this with Pentax lenses in your outfit.
Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare against the light, and increased contrast. Standard, compact 52mm screw thread for filters and other accessories.
A clip-on, dedicated ‘Perfect’ lens hood is supplied to reduce flare even further.
