Normally I wouldn't comment on an auction, however, I'd suggest re-wording this part of the listing: 'The k-1 is a full frame 36 megapixel camera with pixel-shift functionality that can increase image size by four' - it can't.
Auto-text pulled through by ebay product selection.

Hi John
I'll give you £950 for the kit, ebay youd pay 18% so my offer is better..
Cheers

Bruce
That would be true Bruce based on a couple of assumptions - one that I'll only get the minimum listing price and two that I'm paying full ebay fees.

I'm on an 80% off FVF deal with ebay so the charges are less than £30 if it sells on this auction run...ask me again after Sunday if you like when the auction finishes if it isn't sold as I think I lose the 80% off deal then I might be more open.

Listed on ebay ends on Sunday - would cancel auction if a private sale agreed.

Listed on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114800666423 - only 2000 of these made I believe - would cancel the auction if a private sale agreed and no bids received...shed loads of watchers but suspect they'll bid at the last minute as always.

I have this listed on ebay at the moment in tip top condition - could cancel the auction if no bids received for a private sale - not sure how it works if bids received though

This is true but they also said "at PENTAX we don't design SLRs or Mirrorless cameras based on which is superior or inferior in terms of technology we believe everything depends on which type of camera the user prefers because of the way it handles of captures a particular subject"

https://youtu.be/KfcFDGbtZyE?t=614

Which I interpret as them stills being a use for the functions you get in Liveview (and the AF in Pentax live view is already excellent for example). So I don't think they are dropping that aspect just asserting their commitment to SLR. So they aren't going to drop the OVF in favour of mirrorless but they aren't closing the door on mirrorless tech.

And of course they filed this patent...https://pentaxrumors.com/2018/10/09/ricoh-ovf-evf-switchable-hybrid-viewfinder-patent/

Only time will tell...I mainly wish they would just hurry up and get the announcements out my backup body really needs an upgrade!

I know no more idea about what Pentax has up their sleeve than you do. But look at these quotes......

"When you take a picture with a single lens reflex (SLR) camera, the light passes through the lens, and in turn the optical viewfinder. You view the image directly with your eyes, and feel it with your heart."

"The intuitive shooting process made possible by the SLR mechanism — the lens, mirror and prism viewfinder — can best be described as a pure joy."

"With an SLR, photography is more like painting a picture than operating a mechanical device"

"Light passing through the lens is reflected by the mirror to the pentaprism, which in turn directs it to the viewfinder’s eyepiece"

"PENTAX showed its commitment to the development of the optical viewfinder by incorporating a glass pentaprism, which allows the light captured by lens to be viewed directly with the naked eye."

"the optical viewfinder captures subtle nuances of the subject’s lighting conditions, colors and shades."

These are taken from the latest statement of Pentax core values published within the last month. These suggest your idea is not likely.

Further, although I am no camera design engineer, I would think it highly unlikely that a camera with the design philosophy of a hybrid viewfinder could be suddenly switched to being a simple old SLR instead.

I've watched the DA-50 one. Great little vid. I'm used to something a little quicker from the vids I watch but I usually speed up to 1.5x speed anyway. One thing I noticed was that the animations came across a little sluggish (personal preference) at the beginning of the video. The main take away for me though is that the beginning of the video is louder than the end. Not absolutely sure why that might be the case.

Also, not that I'm an expert in the matter but do you have a script at all for these types of videos or not? Especially as the focus isn't on your face you could quite comfortably script something which might help minimise speaking errors - again, though, that's endearing for some that it's not overly clinical.

Hope this helps! I'll watch a few more now, enjoyed that DA-50 one... tempted to get one again now I've a K-1!
Thanks Ben, no script just a little bullet points and a saw throat, I've opted to leave the little errors in as I wanted it to feel more like a conversation than a presentation but maybe I'll try the other way too.
