Can anyone tell me if the K5 has High speed synch, I havent heard any mention of it. If it had this I think it would bring it up to par with the Nickons and canons. Maybe when the K3(lol) is released it will be one of the new features( by then Nikon and canon will have moved onto something else)

thanks

JHJ

Joe, unless the colours are wildly wrong I wouldn't worry too much. If they are also wrong on your PC/Mac, then is the time to worry and investigate the reason.

One of the most common reasons for incorrect colours is an inappropriate white balance setting.

For instance, if you shoot indoors with tungsten lighting and the WB set to daylight, the colours will appear incorrect.

Even that is no huge problem if you shoot RAW as the WB can be corrected in post processing.

The only reason I look at my camera screen is to check the histogram info for correct exposure. In fact, most of the time I don't review my images on the camera.

Peter I have tried using using incandscent and florescent White balance setings and they are in some cases worse. Fine tuning the white balance has not made a bit of difference.

Peter the photos look the same hue and shade of colour as they do on the camera's LCD. My screen monitor has not been calibrated and it is something I will hasve to do. Having said that when shooting outdoors with AWB the shades/hue of colours anre fine.

Ravi this is my 10p take on the situation most flashguns are good for shooting long distances, upping the iso to 400 does make a difference. I have a Sigma EF 530 DG ST.I believe its G.N is 30. Its not fantastic but it has enable me in combination with a Jessops light cell to take pics some distance away than what I normally would be able to do. ( My sigma wirelessly triggers the Jessop light cell).

Recently I bought at a camera fare the Sunpack 3660 flash gun, this is a beast of a flashgun , its outdated and is shaped like a hammer and is heavy. It has a built in thyristor to speed up recharging. The guide number I believe is 130 ( thats correct, not 30 130 ) distance is no object for this flash gun. I have used it to shoot pictures at 40feet and the pictures are good.
it connects to the sych sokt on the K20D (dont know if the K10D has one )

Hi!
I bought a slave flash, & have tried it, but it gives very underexposed results...
I have seen the video on how to use it, should be straightforward, but haven't been able to get it right

Also, at a wedding, I used the 16-50 with K10D's built in flash, & got some very underexposed results...
I emailed the results to SRS, they were helpful & have offered to look at the camera's metering, but back at home, I got no problems! Must've been the strobe lighting at the wedding that "threw" the metering
OR,
I was too quick on the button!!

Anybody with slave flash experience, please help!

Thanks a lot- Ravi.

One of the selling points of the K20D is that you can tune the hue of the LCD screen!

As well as the screen, the white balance may be wrong or not to your liking, so experiment with that too.

Ken before posting on the forum I had tried adjusting the monitor via the various white balance fine tuning. That was not a success. I have just tried adjusting the colour of the monitor in all four directions - still no improvement.
I will keep trying by doing searches on the web. Thanks Ken.
