Ah, but finding those. I don't have a lot of money to spend so the M series appeals as there are plenty to choose from too! I will be looking for more M42 Takumars though I think in the future, esp the wider ones.....

I've been working on learning Sunny 16 as a guide (largely because of my Fed 2!) and get my best photos when the meter says it's over exposing slightly. It's no hard and fast rules with an indicator like that! I suppose simply having the lightmeter working at all is pretty good!

But, they're just really nice cameras to use. I have a pair of really nice SMC Takumars for them too!

Thanks for all that! I'm slowly processing all that info and advice! I'm looking forward to boring my girlfriend rigid once again!

It'll be a fun and interesting experiment for me, still a total novice....

I have two Spotmatic F's and think they are really good solid manual cameras. I have had some good results and some not so good results but I really think a good service is required and I would definately suggest this is a good idea to have done on any purchase you are likely to be keeping for some time.

I like that black ES11. I'd like a black Pentax but haven't seen too many about really.....

You could also consider the M 75-150mm f4 as an alternative to the 135mm, it's a very spiffy lens with a bit more flexibility than the prime, not much bigger or much slower.
I have decided recently that for the film cameras certainly that I'm going down the prime route. Seeing as Pentax glass is so good seems fair to do. I'm aiming for duplicate sets for my Program A and the SPotmatics based around decent primes. Considering I have SMC SUper Takumars for the Spotties would be nice to match these....

I don't have any particularly good software other than iPhoto so I try and get it right in the camera through using jpegs as I don't have any RAW conversion software. Don't always manage it though......

Would the 28mm be good on digital as well? Would be almost an ideal focal length I would think and if it's a good performer should get some nice images.

So, a good wide angle, telephoto and standard is going to be reasonably easy to put together. I have a 35-70mm A series zoom and it's ok, but think I could get better results.

Is the 40mm considered to be good? A lot of these do appear to be quite slow?
