Hi,

After considerable soul searching I have decided that these lenses need to go as I need to miniaturise my kit as it was getting to be too much to carry in conjunction with the baby stuff etc. In conjunction with simply less photographic opportunities out and about and my own glaring lack of ability and talent. Increasingly they end up getting left behind! Leaving the country in a few months too so can't take everything. Feel bad about selling up so soon but as the other half has told me we need to be practical.

They are superb lenses but won't get the level of usage I thought they were going to get. All of these were bought off the forum a few months ago. All 3 are boxed and complete with caps, hoods and in the case of the DA*s they have the lens pouches too. COndition of theses lenses is very good, no issues from the SDM that I can report and they work really well with my K5. I have only had them out 2 or 3 times in the last 3 months or so.

Going to be sticking to primes or my film kit as they fit into a small bag and are much more transportable.

DA* 16-50 mm F2.8. In top condition and functioning as it should be. Comes with a Hoya MC protector that has been fitted since I have owned it.

DA* 50-135 F2.8 In very good condition and functioning beautifully the only niggle is a crack on the lens hood near the lens end. This does not affect function as the hood always is nice and snug when in use.

DA 12-24. Again in very good condition, can see nothing wrong with it. Comes with a KOOD UV filter fitted.

Postage will be by RMSD and they will be packed very well. Recent experience suggests postage will be around the £12 -15 mark, seems to be hard to judge exactly these days.

Prices (basically what I paid for them).

DA* 16-50 £500
DA* 50-135 £450
DA 12-24 £400

Also to go with the DA*16-50 is a set of filters including COkin P.197, Cokin P.121M with holder for 77mm and a Kenko 77mm Circular Polariser. If buyer wants or anyone else, this would be in the region £40.

I recently bought an Olympus EPL-5, thinking "that's my street shooting kit......" etc.

Anyway, with the DA 35 2.8 or very specially the DA 21 LTD, no real difference in size. K5 plus prime lenses.......... Or film, I'd be as well off with my 3 prime film kit as the M4/3rd...

I'm selling my Olympus kit.

And trying to get a K-01.

I am a prat. The point is why bother with FF when Pentax do APSC so stupidly well? And with perefect cameras (ergonomics)?

I think a K7 with a grip looks exactly like a K5 with a grip! Nothing between them frankly.

Looking forwards, eventually we'll all need a new / newer camera - and with the ever marching onward technological advances then we should be assured of performance improvements almost automatically. So no ones complaining about that when it comes. K30 & K50 owners I believe have a lot of image recording grunt there in a great value package - but neither of those cameras is a match for a K7 / K5 in many respects - they're a different beast entirely.

Is it not reasonable now to expect & hope for further developments at the top end in the design, handling, ergonomic and operation aspects. The K7 / K5 shell and controls have served very well, and maybe they should continue to be offered in a future model, but is there not room for an alternative, a split at the top end, FF or not? I'm thinking something a bit larger, with the features of the current battery grip built in to the body. There's plenty of ideas out there about what to include and add - things like extra SD card slots, flip out screens for example.

Then you might start to see a few more K7s come on the market!

Ergonomics to one side i would say the k-30 and especially the k-50 / 500 technologically leave the k-7 behind in their wake.
indeed. Just becuase the K-7 has the same body as the K-5 doesn't mean it's in the same generation or class. K-7 is in the K20D generation. K30/K-50 are fairly close to the K-5.
Don't discount ergonomics!!!! The K5 is pretty much perfect, and if the K7 is the same body......

Hi,

I would like to purchase a K-01. Must be in good condition preferably boxed and as close to new as feasible.

I'm not really sure what the used market makes of these as few appear to have come up. Negotiation is free!

Body only is fine. Bundled with the 40mm XS is good but I have lenses I'd want to use the camera with so body only is fine for me!

Thanks!

Oh, colour is not really an issue as people have taste!

Forgot about this thread and found it while looking for something else!
Had the DA 35mm out last night on a walk and this was one of the results. I need to use this and my M28mm 3.5 and K35mm 3.5 more often too.
OOC RAW converted to jpeg nothing done to it. Taken with the K5
