I have a nasty problem - Mac doesn't recognize S45's video format. Whenever there are some video files in camera, iPhoto will freeze forever trying to import them.
Since the iPhoto uses QuickTime for video playback, i installed Perian codecs for QT, but that doesn't help either. Even the universal VLC has problems playing those files.
I don't care much for those videos, but what i want is normal import. Now i have to remove those videos from camera, before starting iPhoto import.

Anyone has a solution for this?

I'm using 4GB SD on v.1.0.0. No problems and no need for sdhc

Hmm, i have a 4GB SD card. Not the SDHC, but plain SD. How come?

Oh, my. And i bought that IR filter without knowing, that my Pentax might not work with it. Well, live and learn

BTW, is there some list with cameras that do/not support IR?

BUT!

I tried it on my sisters Nikon D40X, and nothing. It just makes completely black pictures. We tried different modes, nothing. What could be the problem? Could this be, that D40x doesn't work with IR?

Now it's my turn to try out that fancy infra-red photography Just got that Hoya R72.

Could someone give me some tips, guidelines, ideas etc for taking IR pictures? What's the best mode for shooting?

This pic i took with ISO800 and no tripod. I guess tripod and a lower ISO is a must?

Software - used to use Photoshop. Now turning to Lightroom. But the thing is, i want to avoid this problem "in camera", so i don't have to use software later.

"And most back isn't actually black anyway..." - well, yes, but how to make it look black then?

Simple question - Why does black on pictures look dark purple?
This (d)effect haunts me and makes me crazy. We make car tests, and often the car seats are black. But on pictures they appear as violet. I can't tune it down, without really photoshoping it.

Plus, i just found out, that it's not just on car seats. I went to the zoo, and that pitch black llama also turned purple. Why? And is there a way to correct it in camera?
