I have a sort of an appeal to all you UK togs, in this modern age your local sports clubs need to do so much more to attract young talent. The club website and Social Media groups are so very important to this attraction.
But what they want most off all is pictures of the members in action. Now I am covering pretty much all my local clubs in Rugby and my old Hockey club, but I am only one man.
If you ever wanted to get out and try sports photography now is the age to do so, all you need to do is contact or show up at your local sports club and ask if you can take pictures for them. Most will literally bite off you hand.
Do not worry if you are not too good to start with the great thing is they play each week so plenty of time to practice.
So instead of sitting at home grab you gear and get to your local sports club.

Once again a Saturday afternoon found me stalking the side of a Rugby pitch, this week it was at Sandbach and I covered the 3rd team's last preseason game.

As I continue my 365 challenge I find some days I do not want to go out hunting a picture but today I am glad I did. I went to my local park to catch up with the signets I photographed earlier in the year and while I was doing that I noticed that the ducks were jumping up out of the lake on to the bank. I dashed over and focused as the next one headed in but knew I needed a faster shutter speed (I was on aperture priority) so without taking my focus off the duck I change my ISO from auto to 200. It worked and I was able to freeze the duck mid jump.



I think a fast shutter speed would have frozen the wings too but for me I like the blur.

Last game of the season on the 31st then I move over to Rugby and Hockey

Yes we are staying in the Boarders but move up to near Aberdeen Tomorrow
The Bridge is correctly ID'd by Aero it has a great viewing point where we took a rest stop

In the middle of my Scottish Summer holidays and spent yesterday up in Edinburgh to get a feel of the fringe I also took my two Scottie dogs which both got loads of attention.All pictures taken with my K10K and the 18-55 DA kit lens

Anyone who gets the chance should go to the Fringe event even if yo do not go to any of the shows the chance for street Photography is great.
Last but not least my Scottie boys who at times brought the street to a stand still, I was taking a picture of the Sir Walter Scott Memorial near the train station when I turned around and found a dozen people stood taking pictures of my dogs, we had loads of people ask if we had been at the opening of the Commonwealth Games.

Before dashing off to work tonight I managed to pop along as my old Hockey club played their first pre-season game away at Winsford. I have plenty of pictures to work through and process but as I am at work I pulled a few pictures off the camera and cropped them so I can share.
