thanks for your advice, I went out with the camera yesterday and found that I was zooming in pretty much all the time so I think it would be more useful to me to have the bigger zoom, I would like to keep both but I don't think I can afford to really actually I don't even know how much I would get for the 18-125mm as I haven't really seen any secondhand ones around, only the hsm ones and even then they are mainly new ones. I will keep a look out and see what comes up anyway. thanks for your comments.

Hi, I'm pretty happy with the 18-125mm DC lens quality that came with my k100d but I am thinking about selling it and going for the 55-300mm because I tend to do a lot of bird/wildlife photography so the longer reach would be good for that. Is the 55-300mm as good/better than 18-125mm. don't know much about lenses. I don't want to go and buy one that is not as good, also is there a difference, in terms of quality, between the 55-300mm DA and DAL? thanks.

Hi thanks for your replies, no this is a bright spot right in the middle looks a bit like a hot pixel but only there at high iso as far as I can tell. and it moves around with the picture when you zoom in and move the image around. very odd.

Hi everyone, well my k100d arrived today with sigma 18-125mm lens and so far I am very pleased. The only thing is I have noticed this evening while playing around with it, that when I take a picture in low light at high iso and then check on lcd it has a few bright purple coloured spots/pixels, they don't seem to be there when I take it with flash and I haven't had chance to take any daylight photos yet. Is this normal? also been trying to find out shutter count and I downloaded photome but when I open a photo in it, it shows lots of information but can't find shutter count, any ideas? thanks in advance. jacqui.

Thanks I seemed to have tried quite a few lately and I am hoping this will be ok, seems to get lots of good reviews, I was going to get one of these a while ago and then thought about a bridge, got very confused, then couldn't decide, but hopefully i will be happy with this.
I wouldn't fret about that much. The last time my dad bought a skinning knife, it took him about 3 months of bringing one home after another, honing the edges, checking the balance, curvature, proportion of back-edge, and I have no idea what else, before he found one which he deemed satisfactory. I think he had gone through about a dozen by then.
sounds like me
