I think shutter count is under the 'Manufacturers Notes' section in PhotoMe.
As for the purple spots, is this perhaps the over/under exposure indication turned on? I'm not familiar with your model camera so I'm not sure where it is set.

Hi thanks for your replies, no this is a bright spot right in the middle looks a bit like a hot pixel but only there at high iso as far as I can tell. and it moves around with the picture when you zoom in and move the image around. very odd.

Sounds like a hot pixel or two. Not unusual on any camera.
I agonised over a couple when I got my K100D. Mainly the high iso black background that reveals them as you say.
If you shoot in RAW rather than jpg, the conversion to jpg removes them.
You can do various things with software I think, maybe someone else can comment.
The final solution is sending in for service where they can 'map them out'
I wouldn't worry about it
2805 means it's hardly run in yet ! Lucky you.

just had a look at photo uploaded to pc and they are green bright spots, don't know why I thought they were purple. still as you say Im not going to worry too much about it.
