Hi, my main interest is wildlife/birds and taking photos of my daughter's gigs/shows as she is a singer so high iso would would be pretty useful for that.

ok maybe I should have a look and play with the k10 first. I will see what sort of deals I can find on them over the weekend.

I think I have decided to stick to getting the k-x now and I did try srs because they would be my first choice, but they are not selling it body only unfortunately and I really didn't want to buy it with the 18-55mm because I would just have to sell it again, I need a bigger zoom so I will probably go for the 50-200mm secondhand if I can get one, that's if I can find a k-x for a decent price in the first place of course.

thanks guys, pros and cons to both, I don't know, if the k-x had stayed at the £309 it was at a few days ago I would probably have got that today, but now it's gone up to £359 I'm hesitating a bit. Oh well I guess I will stay confused a while longer

Hi, been on here recently saying about buying the k-x which I am still tempted by, but my local camera store has a few used k10d's in for, obviously a bit lower price than a new k-x. I just wondered what people thought of it and would I be losing a lot going for this instead of the k-x? I must admit I don't really know anything about the k10d and the k-x low light/high iso does appeal but Im tempted with spending less cash. getting more confused by the day

sounds good, maybe it's worth having a chat to them. I have dealt with them a few times before and always found them to be fine.

If so close, I'd be inclined to go in and 'discuss' the price - referencing the earlier price that you saw. There is clearly some fluidity in their pricing! Even if they aren't prepared to give you the lower price, they may give you an idea about how long until the next "good time."

If nothing else it'll give you a better understanding as to whether you want to do business with them later.
Yes that may be worth doing, thanks.

Do remember that if you buy mail order then you can take the camera out of the box and make sure it's what you want.

If you change your mind within a few days (and providing you have 'tried' it but not 'used' it) then you ask the company to collect it and give you a full refund (including delivery charges).

You won't because it is a very good camera, but don't think once it's arrived that you are obliged to keep it.
that's true, that did cross my mind actually, because I believe that if you buy in store, that's it, no going back, unless of course there is a fault.

don't know, they do sell split kits but I have just been looking at the list price on their website, could be I suppose, still a pain though, they are only up the road from me so it would have been good to go and pick one up before the weekend.
