ONE MIGHT not usually compare Pentax DSLRs and buses, but it seems a good time to do so. Yes, some Pentax cameras are red, and yes they have stops, bells and whistles, but my reason for noting any resemblance between them is that they seem to appear in groups, as do buses, where you wait for ages and then they all turn up together. In the space of a month three Pentax DSLRs have arrived, after a serious drought and a period in which the enthusiast had a choice of only two models. The 35mm-style DSLR range has doubled from two to four, and now we have a medium-format camera, too. Is this is the beginning of a new Pentax? All we need now is a full-frame body and a micro system camera, and well have a wider range than any other company can offer. You might not use a Pentax camera now, but if you are over 40 years of age there's a very good chance you did once. And like those big red London buses, perhaps we've all got a soft spot for Pentax.
Apart from the reference to FF it's good to see the Brand being talked about

Poor David - he has offered a subject. One that is certainly photogenic. As such why not for a competition subject?
However in my book the examples of the genre put forward by some of the comments in this thread (as art), do not justify the overall downgrading effect it has on neighbourhoods, or travel experience.
I would happily see a law which ruled that anyone caught doing it in a destructive way should have their thumb and first finger chopped off – be difficult to hold and operate a spray can that way.
But it is with us – so let the competition idea stand. If only a record of social decay.
