It looks like a good lens / body combination - although the lens has not had unanimously stellar reviews. How have you experienced it to date?
I went for the DFA 15-30 in preference for that reason, plus already having the FA50 along with a Tamron 90 macro that can do double duty on APSC and FF.
That said, I like the focal length, and tend to use the DA16-45 as a walkabout lens on APSC bodies as a result.

With your version of LR, are you on the 'Basic' tab in the 'Lens Correction' panel during your attempts to remove purple fringing, or on the 'Colour' tab?
The latter gives you a few more options and control, including for PF...
With plenty of glare in a scene like this, I would be shooting at the lowest ISO possible, too.
