Just back from a week in France, a very sureal week at that!

The Queen had died while we were there, flags everywhere were at half mast and locals all offered their condolances over our nation's loss.

It shows that, despite a bungling government and issolationist self harm, there's still something the EU values in the UK.

Just in from a walk in the garden, 27 steps in total!

But a quick check shows we should be OK for coal and wood this winter, last delivery was a week ago and the wood shed's full.

As are the coal sheds, now all I need is a beer to re-hydrate after all the walking...

And the guy I used to work with who went to Prague and drank Stella..

Several years back we arrived in belgium a good few hours early for our ferry, so decided to have some lunch in a local bar. Good food, but the only beer was Stella..

a couple of pints later, it turned out to be OK, and we were on the way to the ferry.

Once onboard I ordered a Stella in the bar.

What a mistake!!

The Belgium stuff was brewed in a local brewery, whilst the stuff on the ferry was a UK brew..

..that tasted like they'd used water from the local privvies.

Moral is, UK lagers, or is that laaargers are best drunk when the good stuff runs out..

Different beers are always good, whenever I'm away I try local brews to where I am.

Not had any disappointments so far.

...better get some more beer in seeing as there's a water shortage.

After all, we need to have something to drink..
