Well done for giving it a go.

I developed film once, in the school Photo club, what a disaster!

I bottle out and take mine for developing, mind I shoot colour nowadays.

I've had several items from this firm without any hassle. Thought this might be of interest to somebody.

Look around their site for ink, paper and film as well as cards.

I have no problem with Pentax staying Pentax or becoming part of Samsung .. as long as the K mount carries on as a DSLR mount.
Should the Pentax name be sold to Samsung they would probably keep it alive, if just for the prestige DSLR market.

Who amongst us would buy a possible GX30 if the K30 was the same price, no we either go cheap and pay less for a lesser DSLR name, even though they're the same camera!

Pentax on the front puts added value on the price.

Tigers, anyone?

I think I'll stick to wild flowers and old buildings!
I'm with you Kris.

I try to get birds but they move to fast for me!

Looks like I'm stuck with the Wife.

As for the OP, why 500mm ? Why not investigate the 300s that a lot on here seem to prefer, they come in(on the whole) cheaper.

In playback mode turn the rear e-dial to the left to get the multi-image display screen, then turn it to the left again to get the folders. This is how it works on the K10D. I think the K200D is the same.
Yes that's how it works, although my K200d doesn't show empty folders so I delete when I download the files.

Sorry, Dave. I'm sure It's a fine camera, but all that grey plastic pretending to be (t)itanium... Nasty!
The 't' for titanium referred to the chassis inside the plastic.

It was supposed to be lighter than the P30 and P30n, but in reality it weighs the same.

Still, it's not as ugly as the A3!

The P30t, in my view... And any film compact Pentax ever made!

Ugliest camera of all time.. Konica Aiborg.
Sorry I like the P series and my P30t, although the P50 is a bit off!

Why did anybody think a camera like the Konica Aiborg was a good idea? Thank heavens Pentax didn't go that way!

I know what you mean about the SF bodies, bit it started with the A series.

In fact the A3 comes some way to being ugly!

The Program and Super models just seem....

...bits bolted on?

Or just not thought out!

OK, I forgot the *ist D doesn't take SD cards at all!
Dreadful things. I'm glad Pentax changed to SD, especially as most laptops seem to have SD slots.

G
At the time the original *ist D was released SD cards were a new form of memory and no body was sure how they were going to last, so Pentax like other camera firms chose the tried and readily available CF cards.

Thank heavens they saw the light and changed quickly to the SD format!

I'm in full agreement with you George, my MP3 player also has a SD slot and the ability to transfer files from a card to the MP3 memory.
