Welcome to the forum Simon.

It looks like you've got the gear buying addiction already!

Nice gallery pic bye the way.

Look on the bright side Mannesty, ericp will be able to use the MZ-6 in full manual.

Not as good as a MX, but still a (very)good compromise.

In a world where you can still get 120 film and if you really know where to look 620, 116, 127 and most other sizes, film will still be around, but eventually at a huge cost.

I was going to say "sadly film is probably not the way to go", but I'm not sure I'm that sad about it....digital ticks all the boxes now, for me anyway.
I agree somewhat with that John, but...

... with film you HAVE to get it right, you only get 36 shots and it makes you think more before you shoot.

There's still a place for film, especially in the 'student' area where technique are polished to perfection(I wish!)

My local Pentax stockist has just replaced their old stock and, yes, the price has gone up.

To £649, the same as SRS.

Chris and the team are in a cleft stick here!

They sell so much the price rise hits them early.

If you wait a month or so everybody will be in line with SRS.

If you want a new K20, buy it now, it'll only get dearer until the £ strengthens against the Yen.

Starting to make sense now, I'm getting slow in my old age.

No chance I'm afraid.

Haven't Pentax finally stopped making the 6X7 and 645 models?

Bring back the MX is what I say.

use what background is there..try to move your subject away from the walls, and use some hard lighting with cookies and or gels to throw a pattern or pool of light to make it interesting, but not distracting...have your background either one stop higher or lower in brightness to seperate your subject from the background....

I shoot families in thier own homes all the time.. having somebody say "Hey I can't believe that's MY (den/office/livingroom)" is proof you lit it right!
?

I thought you ate cookies!

Nice suggestion Don

I asked a similar question about body numbers, the advice then was....

... don't go there, they're all over the place!

As John said the lenses may well(will) be the same.

Just enjoy the lens.
